There is a nuke tool for MediaWiki but according to MarioWiki's owner, it's sloppily maintained and extremely dangerous to use.

Strange, why do we have several inactive staff then? Is it because they want us contribute rather than deal with admin headaches?

Hm, I wasn't at RVLution long enough. I'd imagine you instill fear into trolls you... uh... why?

yeah, the nuke is dangerous, either restrict it to people you really trust or make it undoable (backup the data to separate tables) or both

for instance, on this board, it's only possible to nuke new users, so you can't go and destroy the board with it

That's possible. We're maybe better as regular editors than regulating activity on the site. I still would like the extra tools to further help the site though.

For the nuke, it's just something ideal, as I'd love to blast the vandals on wikis to nonexistence. Maybe only the proprietor and bureaucrats should use it if we were to get a function.

Why does this site have a view counter anyway?

There used to be badges too, but they are long gone because people fought to get view badges :v

Supposedly there was going to be more badges than viewcounts, but dunno what happened in the end.

there was no real reason to implement any kind of badges beyond the ones we entered manually for specific occasions (or to poke fun at some users, like a 'spamrefreshing' badge)

Oh, well, mainly ones I thought before were ones like if you either got 1st, 2nd or 3rd in a category in the Mosts and also badges like 'Yearling' (registered for one year, etc.) types of badges.

My dad purchased a New Wifi plan and said I can only use the Guest WIFI. This meant no Device to Device connections but I found a way around that, If I use a virtual router and connect it to the wifi my laptop is connected to I can use Wii U exploits.

I don't agree with how MarioWiki handles its bans either. Especially the perma-bans. To them, it doesn't matter how good you are, if you screw up a few times, you'll eventually get perma-banned. It's stupid. Also, hardly anyone ever gets promoted to mod status there and there is no transparency on who gets it and who doesn't. It sucks. I think I had maturity issues back then, but I had cleaned it up, and I'm a major contributor to the wiki, but asking about that kind of stuff, according to them, is a nonnegotiable issue. I like those people, but I fully disagree with how they handle perma-bans on otherwise good faith users. They rarely give anyone a second chance. Perma-bans should be rare and reserved for actively malicious users, not immature users or users that screw up from time to time.

I don't even agree with how they handle "admin" powers there. They decided to keep a dead admin powers rather than retiring her, so they can "honor" her but at the same time, we're supposed to be emphasizing that wiki tools are not a medal and nothing special and don't grant users any additional "say" in things. You're not actually an "admin" in wikis, you just have a bigger toolbox and can edit the wiki in different ways. MarioWiki is glamorizing these tools, and it's even more problematic that there is no transparency on the decisions made to promote people.

Just for clarification, I never ask for more power (Moderator/Admin, or whatever) anywhere, when somebody comes to me and says "we need you", I may say "yes" or "no", depending on the Forum.
Although last time that happened was back in 2007.

I also used to have a bigger Staff, but I've learnt from my mistakes, and I'm now choosing them wisely.
However, it's quite difficult to do so, while I'm the only one actually managing everything, anyway.

I haven't logged in to Snapchat in ages. The bitch wants cutting-edge Android.

I'm on Android 4.4.2, yet "too old, please update".

Yeah. What if your vendor isn't giving you updates?

Good job helping them enforce planned obsolescence, Snapchat. I fail to see why it would require Android 5.

Probably because of Material Design, it was introducted in Android 5.0, along with features belonging to it.
And therefore, none of these features work on older Android Versions.

oh hey, our app works perfectly, but we need to jump on the new hipster bandwagon to be cool, and that's better than being backwards compatible

I'm still on 4.4.4. I could update to 5.1, but apparently the Nexus 4 has some problems with it, so i didn't update.

Though, couldn't it be possible for you to upgrade the phone via other means?

there's CyanogenMod, but having a not-so-common phone model, it means getting an unofficial build with bugs like "crashes if you call for more than 3 minutes" or "camera app deadlocks"

(bugs are entirely made up, but the bugs those CM builds suffer from are in the same vein)

CM is a great way to update an old phone if the warranty is over. But honestly official > CM most times unless you want stock android. Nexus 4 is an old phone, so you might wanna keep it at 4.4 and then wait to get a new one. Any old phone would struggle with new software.

'struggle with new software' because the requirements are artificially inflated
