For rom hacking older systems, like the N64, I learned how to use Sketchup, which was pretty easy, but for making higher quality models and texturing, it sucks.
For the past year (on and off, low priority), I've been trying to wrap my head around Blender, and now I can navigate the scene confidently, rotate/move/scale, but that's it. Most tutorials either abruptly end because of: - Sudden paywall - Creator going inactive And ones that are complete and free branch into animation, or other stuff that can only be used if you want to create a video, or render something. What I'm interested in, obviously, is modeling custom levels (Mario Kart Wii custom tracks, to be specific) that can be imported into games, but I can't find any tutorials that are geared towards that. So, do any Blender users here know any good tutorials for modeling/texturing game-importable levels? ____________________ Website | Twitter |

I have never found any, so you will have to figure it out on your own. Or you will have to ask someone else who has done this before.
If you are gonna make Mario Kart Wii Tracks; good job for using blender, your tracks will probably look way better than 94% of all mkw tracks this way. These are the things I used to make good roads fast. Array modifier: https://www.blender.org/manual/modeling/modifiers/generate/array.html Follow active quads uv wrapping: https://wiki.blender.org/index.php/Extensions:2.4/Py/Scripts/UV/UV_Calculate/Follow_active_quads There are some tutorials on these. Usually you just need to know what you want to accomplish and then google it. |

Posted by TheKoopaKingdom i usually use a Bezier curve with a bevel object applied to it, exept for loopings, because it does weird stuff then. |

that happens because of rotation. You can control that with ctrl+R |
