I reckon Fiachra did a solid job with the Bianco Hills theme here |

Oh, sure. Your point being? I said "I could help with the music", not "replace yours with mine, now!" |

Posted by skawo Yeah, if you could do music for any of the levels that would be very great. Stomatol's already done the Bianco Hills, Gelato Beach and bonus level music though. |

Well, alright. Tell me when you'd need it and how it needs to be setup swar/bank wise and I'll do it. |

Posted by skawo I'm sorry, I thought this was a discussion. No need to get defensive. |

Posted by skawo That's really impressive! Is that the vanilla soundfont? Regarding the samples, for the purpose of this hack, some could be replaced where sufficient sounds do not exist. Someone awhile back formulated a Mario Sunshine soundfont using similar samples. |

*eye twitches*
DS games do not use "soundfonts". Each song has it's own little file of instruments, crafted specifically for it. Replacing them is not that simple, if you just replace the sample itself, it's almost assuredly going to play wrong. And, if you just used Sunshine samples, they wouldn't fit in there anyway, as there's a fairly tight limit on the filesize of the things; you'd have to lower their bitrate, and they'd just sound like crap. |

@skawo
From what I've witnessed you've been overly critical to anyone even speaking of the 'work' you posted. Whether here or on YouTube, for some reason you've chosen to snap at anyone for whatever reason. I was extending a nice gesture in complementing your *amazing* work in getting that much juice out of a simple instrument set. Don't post anything if you aren't prepared to discuss it. :) That also falls under the definition of soundfont. Surely you would not need every key at every pitch; similar samples aren't necessarily larger than the original. I suppose it could also work with a single base note and change it's pitch - I do not know. I'll say it again: That's really impressive! I prefer it over the version currently in the project. You're welcome. |

I disagree it does. And no, the problem with making a proper soundbank is that every single sample has to be adjusted to play properly. You cannot just shove it into a SWAR and then have some generic info in the sbnk. It'll play wrong. There's fields: attack rate, decay rate, sustain rate, release rate, pan, and first and foremost, the sample's loop point to fill into the SBNK and each SWAV. I don't have this information and finding it out would take several forevers. EDIT: But, apparently someone does. I suppose it would be possible, if some bitrate changes could be excused. ...but I don't, again. |

I remember when I was messing around with replacing instruments samples in MKDS with ones from MK64.
It didn't work properly and, some instruments didn't play at all. Though I was successful with a few sound effects. ____________________ MKDS Hacking & Modding Discord: https://discordapp.com/invite/CAktUYP |

I would recommend you just ignore that demo, it's nowhere near the quality of the final game. |

☺ Nice Work, Fiachra! I've been here since you first added F.L.U.D.D. I can't believe you added the sand bird! At this rate, you could add portal guns to SM64DS. Keep it up!

Posted by pacmainia&luigi I don't think that it's a good idea because mario kart wii is a racing game and levels based on mkw tracks would be a bit awfull. ____________________ Nothing to say, so jadnjkfmnjamnfjkldnajfnjkanfjdksan jsdnvj m. |
