Hmm... HANS is saying my romfs is invalid. And it crashes before NSMB2 appears on screen.

Hmmm.. did you strip it? If yes, don't. If HANS is updated thats unnessisary, and since you only got 2.5 after the update, you are good. Edit: Did you remove the unit folder from the stage folder? If the filesize is too much larger than normal it will crash.

I actually planned on making a NSMB2 hack that doesn't revolve around coins. :P

Why does everyone hate that there are coins in NSMB2? What is wrong with them? I enjoyed it. The coins didn't take away or improve anything in the experience. So then why does everyone hate them?

Because of the shitty reward after collecting 1 Million coins

To be honest, I've been sketching level ideals and such to progress myself into making a NSMB2 hack when CK arrives. So far, I've came up with some decent ideas.

Anyway, my planned hack title would probably be NSMB2.1, because you know, it'll be a much more challenging experience w/ less coins and more fun. :)

So, Smea just released the HANS source code! It's available here.

How to use oot3dhax and where can I see the version of my firmware?

You can get your system version by going into the System Settings from the home menu and looking at the bottom right of the top screen.

To install OoT3DHax, you have to run the installer (Found in the 3DS Homebrew Starter Pack) on any 3DS with access to the Homebrew Launcher, and follow the onscreen instructions.

Then, on your 3DS, launch OoT3DHax, select the first save file, and open the items menu to launch boot.3dsx (The Homebrew Launcher by default)

- If you cannot access The Homebrew Launcher on your 3DS, and are installing OOT3DHax from another 3DS, you must be using a cartridge. If everything is being done on the same 3DS, then I'm pretty sure that digital is fine.
- Because of the size of the payload, starting a new game on a non-hacked save is impossible after OoT3DHax is installed. Erasing the hax solves this.

I have the latest firmware of my old 3DS (10.7.0-32U at the time of this post), and I haven't exploited it yet, but I do have a copy of Ocarina of Time 3D. The instructions are pretty confusing for me, especially when some stuff is on github. I tried looking at the readme, but I got quickly stumped.

But to clear things up, I need a save dongle or an Action Replay PowerSave to perform "writing a raw savegame image into the SD card", right?

That's one of the ways, but using the installer is much easier, and there are much better tutorials for it.

If you have a 3DS with access to the Homebrew Launcher, or know someone that does, you can install the hacked save from there, and then you'll be good.

But my 3DS hasn't been exploited at all and I don't have Cubic Ninja. How do I run this installer?

I've read that console versions on or later than 10.6 are not compatible with browserhax. I have a 10.7 version.

You are correct, browserhax only works on 10.5 and under. However, since it is a really old version of webkit, expect browserhax to return someday.

Oh, cool, really? I think I should disable updates on my 3DS just for the time being. Is anyone working or have plans on working on a newer version of browserhax? Or should I just get a PowerSave so I can use OOTHax?

grr, when you update to 11.0 without knowing that an exploit hasn't been developed yet. (and there's no way I'm wasting money on Cubic Nunja)

How much longer will it take for 11.0's exploit, and will you update this? :P
