Oh. That's probably above our uploader's size limit.

I felt like reminding people of it anyway. Can't hurt.

@StapleButter
Do you know which levels use the same lighting as 1-1 A1, so I can get on and take some sprite image screenshots?

I dont't think using 1-1 Lighting for everything is good.

For example why should a Podobo have Grasslannd lighting?

For consistency.

Unless we are going to change the sprites for each lighting, then we should really stick with one lighting for everything. Trust me, it looks really bad otherwise.

So, how do we capture sprites again? Screenshot and edit out the backround? If that's the case, we should make a level with the backround covered by colour blocks so we can quickly edit it out. If there is a list anywhere of sprites we need? I'd be happy to do some.

Actially I already did almost all overworld ones.
We need:
  • Castle Sprites
  • Firt frame of Goomba and Red/Green Koopa Troopa
  • Everything else that isn't in here

To make a screenshot of the first frame, place the things you want to caputure on the right side of a warp pipe in 1-1. While going out of it the sprites are frozen and you can make a nice screenshot.

If you want to capture the first frame easily, just exit from a pipe. That should reset everything and pause the game for a few seconds, without moving the camera (if the camera is set up like that). You may need to come from another area for it to reset though.

Thanks for repeating the exact same thing :P

I somehow completely missed that sentence!

Hey, I thought I'd contribute something I think that could be useful... screenshots! I can extract some sprites from them if you like (I'd do that later/tomorrow because now I'm simply too tired). Here is a zip with some Screenshots: https://mega.nz/#!uQFDUAiR!Fercy1tJk1vf5ZqQf9zT83CVUFaMSP5JjAcUp08FgW0
They are only a few because I'm not sure if it's really useful what I'm doing and, as mentioned before, I'm almost falling asleep. Hope you guys can use them, if so, I'll make more of them later/tomorrow! :)

The screenshots are good quality, but we do need them to follow the rules, otherwise they aren't really useful s sprite images.

So could you please tell me what I'm doing wrong?

You haven't followed rules 3, 6 and 7. They are pretty important.

Ok, thank you. I'll try to do it better next time. But isn't it impossible to do screenshots in castles with 1-1 lightning?

Either mod the zone settings (if that works, not sure) or mod the enemies into 1-1, using reggie next. You can find a download somewhere on gbatemp, or compile it from github.

Don't think the lighting settings are documented yet, so stick with 1-1 for now.

I see no reason to overcomplicate sprite images.
