Hello everyone!

The main project I'm working on right now is called New Super Mario Bros. Wii: RiiMIXED. However, I'm also working on this: NSMBWii RiiMIXED: Anniversary Special!

Features

Anniversary Special, like RiiMIXED, features single-player focused levels based off of areas from awesome games both old and new. Each world in the game will celebrate an anniversary. World 1, for example, celebrates the 30th anniversary of Super Mario with remixed levels based off of it's games. However, only the levels that have Secret Exits in NSMBWii will have Secret Exits in this game. Princess Peach's Castle, the Warp Cannon levels, Toad House redesigns, and Enemy Courses (EC's have a tiny little difference) are the same as the ones I am making for RiiMIXED.

Game Updates

Version 0.1

Release Date: September 2015

V0.1 of this project will include World 1. All levels in World 1 each feature two remade levels instead of one. The first level takes place in daytime, and the second takes place at night. Progress on V0.1 can be viewed below.

V0.1 Title Screen: COMPLETE

Princess Peach's Castle: COMPLETE

W1-1: World 1-1 & World 1-1 (Super Mario Bros., Super Mario Bros. Special) COMPLETE

Locations: Mushroom Kingdom, Mushroom Kingdom(?)

Here we have the classic first level from Super Mario Bros., the game that started it all. There's also the first level from Super Mario Bros. Special! Only some Goombas, Koopa Troopas, and a couple of bottomless pits stand in your way... this shouldn't be too hard!

W1-2: World 1-2 & World 1-2 (Super Mario Bros.: The Lost Levels, Super Mario Bros. 2) COMPLETE

Locations: Parallel Universe, Subcon

Here's some levels from the first two sequels in the Super Mario series, and they're both located in alternate universes! The first is set in a parallel Mushroom Kingdom much deadlier than the one in Super Mario Bros. The second is from the once peaceful dreamland of Subcon! It was all just a dream... or was it?

W1-3: Grass Land-3 & World 1-3 (Super Mario Bros. 3, Super Mario Land) COMPLETE

Locations: Grass Land (Mushroom Kingdom), Sarasaland

Now we have some levels set in Grass Land and Sarasaland! Level #1 is from Super Mario Bros. 3, a time when the seven Koopalings were depicted as Bowser's children. Level #2 is from Super Mario Land, a time when... Mario was in love with Daisy!? Things were certainly different back then...

W1-Tower: #1 Iggy's Castle & Tree Zone Area 5 (Super Mario World, Super Mario Land 2: Six Golden Coins) COMPLETE

Locations: Yoshi's Island, Tree Zone (Mario Land)

These two levels aren't located within the Mushroom Kingdom! Mario traveled to Yoshi's Island after Super Mario 3, with the hopes of having a relaxing vacation. He also adventured across Mario Land in Super Mario Land, after the mischievous Wario took over his castle!

W1-4: WORK IN PROGRESS
W1-5: NOT YET STARTED
W1-6: NOT YET STARTED
W1-Castle: NOT YET STARTED
W1-Toad Houses: COMPLETE
W1-Enemy Courses: COMPLETE
W1-Cannon: COMPLETE

Don't go asking for people to jump on a project if you have 0 to show for your idea. Speaking of idea, you haven't specified anything. And I can tell you there won't be interest anyway :P NSMBW is old

Alright then, I'll give some details. There's 20 views... apparently there's some interest!

If I were you, I would have done it the clever way and FIRST designed the levels and then created the thread to show them off and gather more people to show interest to it. Just because people "look" at it, doesn't necessarily mean that they show interest for it. A major factor is prejudging. People often tend to quickly jump to topics, shortly looking over them and quickly have an opinion of it already. (Even if many of you will say "no, not true", it actually is true for like 87% for all people on the world. Even if the project is the best and epic one, but with a short topic with no preview at all, will never succeed and never gather any attention because people tend to prejudge quickly no matter whether the project leader has actually the skills to work on this or not) If you had put up pictures of some really epic tier levels then it most likely would've gathered more views and attentions than a simple text of concept for your NSMBW project. No offense, but I always recommend to start topics only once you have something to show off.

That is a good piece of advice, one which I shall continue to follow from here on. Thank you!

Look, even if I look bad because of it I'm going to point out the obvious. The fact that you are just asking people for help because you have this idea which you've got nothing to show for heavily indicates this will not happen. If you need specifics to be convinced, how about this: Unless you can do ASM hacking (which you cannot, and you won't get someone who will), even if you managed to get Link in the game (which by the way is HARD given all the necessary animations) you would just have Link collecting Triforce coins surrounded by a Mario game. Mushrooms, goombas, koopas. Enthusiasm is great and all, but simply having an idea won't get you anywhere if you don't know how to do it and have nothing to show for it. You can try if you want, but I guarantee you, as someone with PLENTY of experience with ideas not happening (I was part of 2.5 for 2 years), yhis isn't getting anywhere at all.

What you need to do is start small. Learn what you need to do to accomplish it, and get going. The most classic sign of an inevitable failure with game mod projects is "Here's my idea blah blah now all I need is people to do my work for me to make my personal vision come through"

Let's say for whatever reason this project was THE one you wanted to do (it shouldn't be, NSMBW is 6 years old and the interest is long gone, also the idea is kind of lame xP sorry). If you need modelers, learn how to model. If you need designers, then learn how to make designs. That way, when the project does inevitabely fail (again, sorry, but still true) you walk out with new skills you can apply to whatever comes next.

I know this isn't what you want to hear, but it's the truth. It's good to be enthusiastic about an idea, but this really is a classic case of something that will not go anywhere ever.

Thank you for being honest. :)

*Huge wall of text*
>I didn't even read that.

Even if you think it's "bad" or a "bad idea", you should encourage people to carry on so that they may eventually create something "good".

If you read it, you would see I suggested starting small and learning the necessary skills for whatever that entails

As for you Gamer Boy, I'm glad you appreciate the honesty (a lot of people don't xP) and good luck with whatever you end up doing :)

Hey, NSMBW could become a thing!

SMW became and stayed a thing for, like, forever!

>ohwait

Yeah, you're right.
Nevermind!

Thank you. You know, I actually have another project I'm working on right now, and celebrating Zelda's 30th anniversary is an idea which fits into that... so I'm going to use this thread for something else.

You were right, hoping for all of this was way too ambitious. :)
