What's new in this all new version of Firefox:

* looks even more like Chrome!
* dev edition theme switch broken! Crappy Australis UI is shoved down your throat!
* shittier coding! Becomes laggy after a while for no apparent reason!

seriously why am I still using that piece of trash that once used to be a browser

they ruined it with their love for Chrome

seriously Mozilla, if you want to make Chrome, just switch sides and get hired by Google, that'll be less ridiculous

otherwise, you're supposed to give Firefox its own identity, not make it a clone of something else, that's not how concurrency works god fucking damnit

They're reaching the point where they give updates that barely change anything, just so they don't look dead.

I am not sure what to do now, help me

haven't had any problems so far, maybe it's because i use an addon that replaces the clone of chrome's awful layout

I also think that if you want to use Youtube you're screwed either way

because no browser can survive Youtube's shitty coding for more than a few minutes

Aw crap, I looked to FireFox because Chrome is terrible. What now? It's like I'm being forced back to Chrome again by the sounds of it!

Chrome, YouTube, and all that other shit's working fine for me using Linux.

Would my OS make any difference?

Idk man, it just looks a bit more flat, but nothing more or less like Chrome than Firefox 39.

That was just a reference to how they spend all their effort turning Firefox into a Chrome clone.

The overall interface, the developer tools, and even the config interface now, every fucking thing is becoming Chrome-like.

Maybe they are trying to reverse engineer chrome? Anyway, i read somewhere that new firefox comes with in-built adblock. Is this true?

This would be a new step in the ad war, after the assholes who outright deny you access to their site if you have an adblock enabled.

Would definitely be fun to watch that unfold.

Firefox 40.0.3 has arrived.

* version numbers are getting ridiculous
* some things have been fixed/changed/whatever, but those are none of the things I posted in this thread

I've been using firefox since forever and I haven't had any glaring issue with it.

I don't mind the chrome like UI.

But perhaps when its lagging, its starting to get annoying.

Oh well, I still SRWare Iron and Pale Moon (which is an updated, old looking and feeling firefox)

I upgraded to Firefox 40 and subsequently Firefox 40.0.3 and I must say that I think the UI looks no more like Google Chrome then it ever did.

I switched from Firefox to Chrome about a year ago, as Firefox for some reason lagged a shitton and decided to crash for no reason all the time. This doesn't really make me want to switch back.

I hate how Chrome looks.

Once Firefox started looking more like a Chrome clone I got an addon that made it look objectively better more like it did before, so half the posts I can't relate to.

I've also only had problems with lag after dealing with the pure RAM-cancerous horror that is Youtube, and even then it's only temporary.
