Yeah, 2.5 is dead. (and there was much rejoicing)
But I'm going to be uploading the entire 25-piece soundtrack to YouTube over the next few weeks!

So is it actually dead this time, or will we get more of those lame revival attempts?

Don't let all that skill go to the waste, guys, though. You can probably work for video game studios with that.

Without a proper SMG forum (Now that it has been archived) there isn't even a chance that SMG hacking will catch on. This is truly the end of 2.5.

Will there be a way to download the whole album? That's some pretty neat album art that I wouldn't mind seeing on my iPod.
Status: It was really, really fun, guys - thanks for the ride!

Well there's actually already a post I made somewhere on K64 with a link to a .zip, but that was months ago and I have no idea where it is :P
If you can find it, great, otherwise I'll post a new link after all the music has been put on youtube.

You know, I had gone five pages back in Agent000's posts and found the link after a good fifteen minutes of searching before I bothered to look down the thread and saw your post.

Not my greatest moment. :P

Hopefully nobody gets the nerve to make a SMG board with Acmlmboard or any of that other board software... a lame revival attempt could happen if that ensues...

I mean, if someone actually makes a decent board that gains activity, i'd be delighted, but that's like a one percent chance. I'm a bit sad to see the SMG hacking scene fade away, but I suppose it was destined to die.

And so, I suppose we must assume there won't be an undead hacking community rising from the grave anytime soon, either...

I never said it'd be revived by its original creators...

...also, I was using the 2.5 logo as a symbol for the whole of the SMG2 hacking community (or rather, lack thereof), and as far as I'm concerned, that is marginally more likely than 2.5 being revived :Y

I still haven't found a place to bury my hopes and dreams of NMG...

The hacking scene is dead, as a game can't be dead. :P Unless they shut down a game's online servers and it is an online game... But Super Mario Galaxy isn't online.

Anyways to Agent: So far from what I've heard on YouTube the soundtrack is amazing! Was this soundtrack for the original 2.5 or the first revival?

Well, I just went back one, did a search for "zip" and if nothing was found, I moved on. Probably more efficient :p

Not deliberately trying to be a downer or anything, but I am the only one who is worried about some backlash on YT due to copyright BS? I mean, YT's content ID system is kind of a train wreck from what I have read, doing more harm than good. Just thought I would put that out there for the sake of making my concerns known.

E: Never mind, see post below this one

They are original compositions, so there can't be any copyright issues.

On the first video in the soundtrack you should link to here https://kuribo64.net/board/thread.php?id=165 so people can download Planet Plains if they want to since the original trailer was taken down for content ID.

That is what I expressed concern about in my other post. If the original trailer was removed in some content ID debacle, might I suggest being prepared to upload to SoundCloud or some other audio-hosting site in case Google is up to its old copyright tricks again?
