Yes, it's possible. Since a good while. ROM hacking isn't quite practical though.

That may be true of the WiiU, but it'll come out eventually. (also I'm not part of the 'select club of people')

The 3DS, however, is pretty much open to everyone.

But what will happen to Kafuka's Wii U hacking forum and 4DSDev? I mean, I have some pretty big plans regarding 3DS and Wii U hacking but now I'm not sure where to have it. I guess I'll either have it on Kafuka then as I was going to make my own board for it. :P

You can also get Cubic Ninja, which is less expensive.

(watch the scene for a while though-- what you can use depends on which firmware you're on)


But eh, this is like the old DS. You also need a flashcard to run homebrew on that.

Either way, the days of easily softmoddable consoles like the Wii are over. Be glad the 3DS has some entry points that don't involve unreliable browser exploits. (I'm sure the WiiU will also get some eventually, but for now, eh)

Well there is not one board which host the whole 3ds/wiiU hacking scene. There are more boards who will do this.

I predict this board to focus more on 3d land and 3d world and eventually only on 3d world. since with boards like GBATemp seem to be more general places to cover the hardware and such.
