The BYML files need to be worked out.

Yannik made a super mario 3d world editor, and has shared his nice work: https://github.com/Kinnay/SM3DW-Level-Editor

Is it possible to edit a bit of the code, because super mario 3d world uses BYML file too. And if i am not mistaken

Mustafa?! Are you there?! Mustafa...? MUSTAFAAAAAAA!!!!!

-------------------------

BYML Files are not the only things it uses, though.
Every File Explorer can open most Files in SM3DL already, so only if we could Combine its Source Code with that SM3DW Editor...

EFE can't open any type of .byml file. That means we can't even view levels.

well maybe there is more then viewing the levels.

Viewing levels would be a great step. With that, a good chunk of the level format (including object purpose and object parameters) could be worked out. And hidden things could be found in the levels (if there are any).

Level Models are saved in BCMDL Files, not BYML.
Don't even ask me what BYML Files are, they're not even part of the CTR SDK, nor NW4C Packages, as far as I can remember.

yes, all you need to do is change all the byml stuff from big endian to little endian and it should work fine (probably need to use yamlconv though, getting it from our python stuff will get messy)

As far as I know, the Super Mario 3D World can only move and rotate objects and it cannot add and remove objects. Also, the rendering is untextured.

But yeah, it is certainly possible to eventually add SM3DL support in the SM3DW editor. I personally haven't looked at SM3DL yet though but I've looked at SM3DW.

They are like the SMG things with a similar name.

Also, I meant viewing the level data, not a 3D view.

We managed to make this thing work in the game. Enjoy the first edit to a SM3DW level: http://youtu.be/UzIFnSWh9yA

Didn't we talk about SM3DL here?
That Hack is clearly made for SM3DW.

Oh shiz, I didn't notice because there are some posts about 3DW and the editor on this page. Anyway, the games are pretty similar, so I guess I didn't mess up too much...

Soo can you make a 3d land editor with your program then ?

Kinnay

That won't happen anytime soon. I'm not interested in 3DS hacking and the game uses different archive/model formats. And I'd rather get 3DW fully working before I do anything else with editor. Feel free to use the source code to make your own 3DLand editor though if you want.

Not really, the CMDL and FMDB Formats are very similar to each other internally, especially when the CMDL File is Converted to .BCH Files, which uses the H3D Library, instead of CGFX.

Besides, I don't think there's a real demand on having a Tool for Extracting BCMDL Files, making Custom Levels in Maya or 3DS Max, Converting those back to BCMDL, etc., because all the required Tools to do so already exist, either made, or leaked.
