After spending about 5 hours (not all at the same time ._.) trying to break Windows 10 build 10162 in every way I could think of while trying to get Spore to run in it, I ended up successfully breaking DWM:

Yeah, 2.1 Windows Operating Systems later, and MS still hasn't removed Windows 7's "Windows Basic" borders. Well, they've been replaced in the Aerolite Visual Style, but not regular Aero, so they can still be seen on applications that run in compatibility mode for Windows XP...

Also puzzling how there's now a smallish hall of mirrors between the caption and the ribbon in explorer. I should also note that the caption buttons' cursor collision is a bit off on Modern UI apps, as I discovered whilst noticing that Microsoft Edge kinda sorta works.

To anyone who may be wondering, Spore does work on Windows 10, just not if it's in a VirtualBox VM.

Yeah, it does...well, I hope it's because VM, because if Windows 10 RTM is this slow as a host OS...

It is not. I've been running it for months on my laptop and it's nice.

Okay, thanks for the reassurance. Suddenly Windows 10 doesn't feel like the end of everything I've ever liked about Windows...

...I still think Windows 10nghorn would've been a better idea.

I still think, Windows 10 is one of the better Windowses, but Manjaro Linux Awesome Remix is the best OS I currently use, in my opinion.

What do you like about Windows 10? (Just curious) (Also, does that take betas, (e.g. Longhorn, Whistler) into consideration?)

I still don't quite understand Linux. I've never used it, either, so... ._______.

Windows 10 looks nice.

I already reserved my free upgrade for it.

Perhaps the most difficult thing would be to adapt to the new interface.

Does anybody know if people running the preview builds, get the full version when it's released?

The upgrade-reserver thing doesn't seem to be appearing on my computer. Does anyone here know why?

Do a Windows Update. That may help.

Oh...I thought that thread was about using Windows 10, not breaking it...woops ._____.

- No need to Install Drivers manually, for the most of the time.
- Nice Interface.
- Most Features are implemented Democratically.
- Touch-friendly, and Mouse-friendly at the same time.
- I have a Surface Pro 3, so yeah...

Longhorn = Vista, I never heard about Whistler, though.

You can't expect to understand something, you never used.
It's like you would complain about the fact, you can't understand Maths, while you never even learnt how to Count to 10.

Nice interface? Okay, I thought it was awkward and hideous (bar the fact that the caption buttons are FINALLY uniform in size and shape)...

IMO Longhorn = Vista right up until it was terrible (okay, builds 5112, 5219, and 5231 were okay, but 5251 is the end of the few remaining good parts of Longhorn...and the beginning of the start orb). Whistler is just XP, before its final name was announced.

That's my point. I'd need to try it to understand it. Trouble is, IDK where to start...

Well, you have a Virtual Machine, that's already a Start you can make use of.

Fair point...

...this is getting kinda offtopic...

The conversation is intelligent, so its not a bad thing if it goes offtopic. Besides its still on topic.
