Welp Nintendo's E3 presentation was pretty disappointing, especially after the phenomenal Championships. I did manage to catch this little gem of an interaction though...

Why is Europe and Japan getting Yoshi's Woolly World WAY before the US?!?! It is already in English!

In my opinion, only Star Fox Zero and Mario & Luigi: Paper Jam looked interesting.
Other than that, the Games were either meh, or already Announced last year.

Also, TSM:
25-06-2015: Australia
26-06-2015: Europe
16-07-2015: Japan
16-10-2015: North-America

It's still not as terrible, as it was 2 decades ago, when Europe and Australia had to wait 1 or 2 years, after North-America got a Game, which had to wait for just a several Months, after Japan.

Worst E3 for sure, perhaps even worse than the 2008 one.

Starfox still looks meh and looks like a gamecube game. However its shaping nicely by adding stuff from Starfox 2 (walking mode)

I don't know about the Paper Mario and Mario & Luigi crossover. I didn't bother with dream team, and this one seems to be using dream team and sticker star.

And the slap in the face with the Chibi Metroid game... and the lame Animal Crossing Mario Party thing.

Not a big surprise from the other games, but Yokai Watch looks great.

I liked Bethesda's presentation more.

Not a great E3. Star Fox was the only big new title, but it's not a series I'm really interested in.

Only played Command...

I am happy about Tri Force Heroes (although that's just a glorified version of Four Swords) and Mario & Luigi: Paper Jam, but there wasn't anything else that really grabbed my attention. That Metroid thing showed how out of touch Nintendo is. They obviously don't understand their audience anymore.

Too many of the games were just small B-listers. Tri Force Heroes, those two Animal Crossing games, "Metroid", even Super Mario Maker- it's just a level editor. We've had those for decades. Not all big games are good, and not all good games are big, but the bigger the game, the more value it holds, and the more people are satisfied when the content of that game delivers. Last year we had Smash and Mario Kart. What have we gotten that's on that same level for this year?

I keep thinking about what the Wii U's lacking where most past consoles at least had one of- Zelda, Mario RPG, Metroid, Classic 3D Mario, F-Zero (even though it also skipped the Wii)... and it doesn't seem like that's going to happen. Maybe Zelda will come out on the Wii U... but it'll probably be another Twilight Princess situation.

It's a bleak future for the Wii U.

I don't know what you guys are all being pissed about because I got sure haven't even completed all the Wii games I have here.

I'm glad there's not a shitton of stuff coming out. Gives me time to catch up.

"Just a level editor". It's not 'just' a level editor, it is a level editor you can do anything and everything with. You can do more than you could even imagine. There sure have been level editors for most games, but have you ever seen something like this for a Mario game? I haben't, and I doubt anyone has. It would be way too much to make the modifications to the game, you wouldn't even get close to half of the stuff Mario Maker does. Watch the e3 world championships and trailers. They're a really good example.

Eh people are honestly getting too worked up over modern Nintendo. It's not like they were perfect back in the day (Lost Levels, only releasing certain games in Japan) and it's not like some of the stuff they show is actually pretty good. Yoshi's Wooly World?

And the slap in the face with the Chibi Metroid game...

I literally cannot comprehend why everyone is so upset over it, it's a spinoff not an official title.

It's like getting angry at half the minigames in Nintendo Land.

Super Mario Maker has its own merits to differ from what we can do.

However, its focus seems to be that people make Kaizo-like levels...
But its really stupid if super mario maker ends as at full wii u retail price.
30$ is the most im willing to pay.

Im not angry that the game itself is not what people wanted.

It looks fun with friends.

However, im not liking the looks of the game, with that kid-friendly look. Almost doesnt feel like its a Metroid game.

But this one's official, so it's ok.

It's not the game itself, the reason people are pissed of is because fans have been clamoring for a new Metroid game for years and then they give us this.

I think Mario and Luigi: Paper Jam has potential... (Fawful and Dimentio team up PLEASE)
Other than that, I was disappointed with most of the games. I don't like Triforce Heroes but it could be good if it's just not levels and more of an actual zelda game with story and stuff. Yoshi's Wholly World looks cool and so does Star Fox but that's about it.

...

Here's a list of things you can do in Super Mario Maker that you can't do with rom hacks:
-On-the-fly "play the level as you're designing it" interface.

Here's a list of things that Super Mario Maker can not do that rom hacks can:
-Longer levels.
-Custom graphics.
-Custom music.
-Custom enemies.
-Custom platforms.
-Custom world maps.
-Slopes
-Pretty much anything that Super Mario Maker doesn't cover.

The game has some impressive new additions, but you're working with such harsh constraints that it doesn't reach anything close to the level of creativity and originality that can be done with simple ROM editing tools. Anything is possible with rom hacks.

Also, with rom hacks, you can publish full games. With Super Mario Maker, you can share four at a time online.

You know whats the sad thing? Super Mario Maker will have more attention that all ROM hacking mario scene ever had. One will have more attention to ones work publishing there, than by publishing a rom hack elsewhere...

Also, the mario maker depends on what game skin you are using.

It completely beats of SMB1 on what you can do (that game is very restrictive...you cant add stuff without the ASM hacks, which isnt easy)

For SMB3, it hast sprites limitations and whatnot. BUT, it has slopes. So it kinda wins there (only for the hilly and underground theme though :P)
Though it loses to the NSMB and SMW skins, since you can do what you say there easily enough.

What. I need the source of this.

That's not even getting into SMAS, mind you.

That's a given, ROM hacking has always just been a small niche of weirdos.

But all the 8 year olds interested in making Mario levels can spam Kaizo trash there instead of the various ROM hacking sites.

It requires you to beat your level before uploading it, so hopefully that cuts down on the stupid impossible levels.

Still, most level will not have finesse in terms of general level design (the creators even stated that kind of levels arent the focus type).

Expect to see things like the levels in the NWC finals.

Also, the biggest Bullshit of all is that just the tool cost 60$.

I rather get 3D world instead.

20$-30$ is the max I would pay for Super Mario Maker.

I think it is $60 if you buy it physical with the book. Also you can only upload ten levels at a time until you get enough stars from other players and then it is limitless. At least that is what IGN said.

Agent000

Really? If I'd pay $60 for NSMBU, I'd easily pay the same for effectively unlimited Mario levels and an easy way to make and share mine.
