You could just replace the BDL. Heck, I can even try it if you want, it could easily work.

Not meaning to be blunt here, but that's exactly what PaperplateismGuy and I tried .-.

Sorry about that, I thought it might work similarly to Ice Luigi. It just seems that anytime you try to replace Mario or Luigi's main model it won't let you.

Is it absolutely necessary to format textures to CMPR? What happens if you don't?

IIRC pyTEX1 doesn't accept any other formats :/

Actually, Ice Mario and Cosmic Clones work over normal Mario on real hardware, which lead me to suspect that Cosmic Mario doesn't work due to his material.

Have you noticed that Cosmic Mario looks kinda like a hole through the screen, behind which a semi-static starry sky pattern can be seen? That's what I mean. I assume it's a material thing, but I could easily be wrong...

Well that's no good, no transparency and small squares on the image :(.

Well that must mean that Ice Mario/Luigi and Cosmic Clones use the exact same model (apart from textures and texture-mapping) as the normal player models.

I'm really not sure if Cosmic Mario/Luigi is even possible because of the fact that it works like that. Hmm.

Thing is, they're all rigged identically, same bones and all.

I should probably note, however, that while Ice Mario and Cosmic Clones don't flat out crash the game, but they look pretty messed up. Same goes for Cosmic Mario (hat), except that Cosmic Mario doesn't work on real hardware.

This would be explained if Cosmic Mario's material was substantially more different from regular Mario's than that of Ice Mario and Cosmic Clones, which isn't exactly out of the question...
