Well, I have a version that will export multiple scale, translation, or rotation values. It doesn't import them yet, but I'm working on it.
https://www.dropbox.com/s/a2e7gjrf9ejzfcs/PyBCK-New.zip EDIT: Now I've figured out why some joints have multiple scale, rotation, and trsnslation values. The data they store isn't just one value, it's a keyframe with time and tangent values as well. NEW EDIT: Now it exports keyframes. Still no importing, but I should be done with importing soon. https://www.dropbox.com/s/4vskq6jpdr5yg1p/pybck-keyframe-exporter.zip |

After working on this for a while, I've created a version that should work. My program can import and export animations, and sees them as valid, but BMDView2 doesn't. If anyone wants to take a look at why, feel free.

You forget to align trans_offset. |

Thanks to blank, I've fixed the problem with PyBCK. I've released the first version of it.
https://www.dropbox.com/s/195tf4bbcp7s40a/PyBCK.zip Usage: Exporting: python pybck.py -e [BCK filename] [Output filename] Exports the BCK to a text file. It is not required to specify the output filename. Importing: python pybck.py -i [Input filename] [BCK output filename] Imports a text file created by exporting a BCK file into a new BCK. It is not required to specify the output filename. Also, I deleted all of the other PyBCK ZIP files on the SMG2.5 Dropbox, so all the earlier links are broken. Use this one, because it's the only working one. |

Basically, from what I know, since all of blank's programs use it too. ____________________ "I hate playing musical chats" ~ Quote of the month |

This already can edit animations. I've gotten it working. |

What are the chances of being able to bring a model/animation into Maya, edit it, and then convert it back into the proper format? Could that be done in the future, or how are we going to edit animations? |

That's what's been planned for a long time now, yes. Using one of the 3D modelling programs(maya or blender) to animate a skeleton and then being able to export to a format and then import to SMG2. Though hopefully we can eventually add a 3D view and be able to animate easier from within the program itself ____________________ "I hate playing musical chats" ~ Quote of the month |

Glem3, there may be no need if I create a GUI keyframe editor with a 3D view, like NWPlayer123 said. |

Well yes, but everybody has their preferences. I personally would like to learn how to animate through the in-program one since I haven't learned beforehand, but for people like Glem who have been doing this stuff for years in Maya or what-have-you, they might feel more inclined to use that since they know it better. ____________________ "I hate playing musical chats" ~ Quote of the month |

Yeah, good animation is hard enough to do with a Maya interface, I couldn't do anything decent by just entering values. |

Okay, I'll work on that. Are the animations in Maya ASCII (*.ma) format? |

I'm sure there is software that can view animations for SMG models. But editing them is obviously a good thing. |

Yes, there is a software that can view SMG animations, and it's BMDView2. |
