Last view: 1212 days ago 		I'm about to begin work on my own original game using the Unity engine, and I figured I should post about it here (because why not.) It's going to be a 3D first-person shooter based heavily around exploration and puzzle solving, very much in the spirit of the Metroid Prime series. However, it's going to have a very different artstyle that uses simple geometric forms and a general minimalist aesthetic. To avoid having to model and animate really complex stuff? Mebbe. To look cool? Definitely. I'll post pics of progress as stuff is finished in the game. See ya around!

The gun is going to have seven different beams, each of a different colour -- each combination of those three coloured rings you can see on the gun. And each beam (red, yellow, blue, orange, green, purple, and black) will have a different effect, much like the different beams in Metroid.

Yeah, I haven't read a lot about Source2 but judging by a few allegedly leaked screen shots from a while ago and just pure assumption, it looks like it may just match up (and possibly surpass) to unreal 4 in graphics capabilities.

Also, This game looks nice so far! I never played through the prime games, but they always looked really interesting and I liked the ideas behind the game (exploration with some puzzles sprinkled through out) So this game definitely sounds interesting and like something I would play. Keep up the nice work!

I'm beginning to agree that I should make the graphics a little less simple. But I'm not going to do anything with graphics until the gameplay is fleshed out more, so for a while it'll continue looking how it does now.
