I use blender SOMETIMES to do models a bit more advanced than Sketchup can do. But I feel that Blender is a bit unnecessary hard (especially with texturing). The only thing I can is add some objects and then edit them in edit mode or sculpt mode. I can't do much. Then I texture it in Sketchup.

Blender has a steeper learning curve but is much more powerful than sketchup.

Agreed. I typically model in Blender and texture in sketchup, because I HATE texturing an entire model with one image, and I suck at doing it that way. But that's bad practice, is it not?

Uh yeah, idk why you would texture an entire model using only one image...

It's because when you do that the full model be textured with the one image. I'm sure it is a way to texture different parts but the YouTube tutorials just show how to texture with one image. It's also a lot easier to texture in SketchUp.

Ultimately, Sketchup is a terrible idea. It's easy, but decent-quality models are nearly impossible in Sketchup, and (ironically) far easier in Blender. Don't make the mistake I did. Do everything with Blender. Everything.

Everything? Texture too?

Yes.
Also, say what? Who said Blender only allows 1 texture to texture something??

The problem you might be having with only one texture in blender is that you can only have one "texture" per material, so to add more textures you need to add more materials and apply them to the correct parts of the models.

On a more general note, I would completely recommend blender as a modeling program, it is so powerful and being able to use it is great for more than just modeling. For example I've been doing a bunch of CAD work for class in blender as well as video editing. It does have a steep learning curve but in the end its all worth it. Looking back at it I wish I had learned Blender in the first place.

I played through the Death Storm Galaxy, and I have to say: THAT WAS A FUN LEVEL...

After I figured out that you needed to kill the red urchins and find the Question Mark coins...

Also, reaching that Comet Medal was EXTREMELY DIFFICULT to figure out...

MY RATING: 7.25/10.00

The Comet Medal was rather easy :o
And I'm gonna redo the level a bit for the final release. There will be a sign that says what you'll have to do and yeah :o
Glad you enjoyed the galaxy ^^

...The Comet Medal was EASY for you because you made the level. It took a lot of skillful triple jumps to reach that high area, because there are no sling stars to launch you up the tower. You also HAVE to go to the top because there is a Question Mark up there...

Agreed. It took me 40 minutes (spent while playing with a friend in Co-Star Mode) to get that jump right.

To get up there was hard, but reaching the comet coin was easy ;)

I really like it. It looks great. Keep it up this great work. I got an question. How many Level's and World's do you plan for the final version?

We don't know yet. We actually have ideas for about 20 galaxies (~ 2,5 worlds).

Probably the same number of Worlds due to technical limitations. I'm thinking atleast as many Galaxies as SMG2 has. We might even be able to do more!
