Hello. Paths are the way an object moves from one location to an another. Like Hammer Bros., they jump to different places which is controlled by paths. Click on "Show all paths" in Whitehole and you'll see colored blocks with lines. They are paths.

Adding your own paths

If you want to add your own paths, you're going to need Whitehole 1.1 or 1.1.3.
1. Select an object
2. Click Add object > Path
3. Place where you want to have the path
4. Click Add object > Path point
5. Place where you want to have the other path (path point)
6. Now you have two paths with a line between, give the "Path ID" section a number (make it unique), it doesn't matter which of those paths you give the number to, both of them will get the same Path ID
7. Select the object you added the paths to and give its Path ID to the one you gave to the paths

Notes:

- You can add more paths than 2 if you want
- The object move from the path named "Point 0" to the one named "Point 1" then "Point 2" etc.
- If you add paths to Launch/Sling stars, it will launch Mario the way the path is
- Paths doesn't work with all kind of objects. It just work with objects like Hammer/Boomerang Bros., Launch/Sling stars, Koopa Troopas, Garantura Koopa Troopas, some kind of platforms, Grand Paragoombas and many others. You can also look in ProductMapObjDataTable to and look if the object is added as RailMoveObj. If it's RailMoveObj then it means it's able to set a path on.

Map objects? You mean Map parts? Do it work with all of those?

This also works with map objects!

uhh...everything does.
Although, some things shit themselves. But areas can have paths, and so can camera areas, and map parts.
Also, are you sure Whitehole v1.1 path adding works? Last I used it, it crashed and didn't work at all...
well, if it does, I'll just merge it with the 1.1 patch.

Whitehole v1.1 works with path adding! But you have to know what you're doing!

maybe you can show how to do it with anarchy in the galaxy. I mean that is guaranteed that it will work right.

Sorry but I don't know how to do that in Anarchy.

That way is actually more secure, and that's the way I got the template for paths.

This does not work for me on whitehole 1.2 does it only work on whitehole 1.1?

AFAIK yes (it might work on 1.3 but that one is super shitty, you're better off sticking with 1.1.2 - see here https://kuribo64.net/?page=thread&id=1577)

Whaat? I will tell a thing to you.

Can do most of the things. It can also edit paths like 1.1.2 and maybe 1.2 can (I'm not sure). It has something that no other version support; Path adding. But it has a problem; the deleting bug.

Is almost exactly like 1.1. V. 1.1.2 is a bit more stable, it doesn't have the deleting bug. It has a path adding button, but this one doesn't work. The only thing that happen is that you get an error message. But it can edit existing paths.

A terrible version. Full of bugs. Almost everything is miscolored. If you click on a red area you can't click on other objects then. I'm not sure, but I think path adding doesn't work and you can only edit them. The only good thing; it can edit the areas

Almost like 1.1, but no deleting bug and it can't add paths and CAN'T even EDIT existing paths

I use 1.3...for PATH EDITING. Eh, 1.3.1, to be exact. Don't forget to add 1.3.1 if that's a difference between 1.3.1 and 1.3!

fun fact. I allways use whitehole 1.2 for editing. I never got any problems with it. but why don't they make a whitehole 1.4? with all fixes and support for bdlv4 versions. I know people are busy but it would be so usefull and get rid of all these problems..

That's what Whitehole 1.1.2 is :P I just named it like that because it was patching v1.1 since it was stable. Vertex colors are working and everything.

Is that so? I might just switch to 1.1.2 (especially if it allows path point dragging on Windows 8.1)!

No no no. 1.1.2 can't do everything; it can't add paths or edit areas. It would be good if it could do it.
Also, path editing with 1.1.2 work on my Windows Vista.

Those are things that I currently do with Anarchy, anyways.
