Somebody said for me to write down the history so....here you go.

The SMG2.5 project was originally created by Glem3 around December, 2010. There were no tools at all, so it was just an idea of what SMG2 could be built on. But, PhantomWings had released Anarchy soon after. That jolted 2.5 enough to start actually making SOME levels.

-Martboo's Flip-Swap
-My Supermassive & Cloudy Heights
-Beta Blast (Wasn't really started, but the idea lingered.)
-icespike's Boulder Bowl
-question's Beat Block

And that....was how 2.5 really started. Although, later around 2012, this is where things get interesting. Before the planet plains demo was created, every single one of the galaxy names were created. The names thought of, can be found in the archive.

Later, NWPlayer123 had found StapleButter (Mega-Mario) on NSMBHD, with Whitehole. He decided to help us out to create our current 3d editor, Whitehole. Although the first release brought troubles, because saving an arc crashed the game and almost turned Whitehole into a SMG viewer. But not long after that, we all decided to just move to the ABXD board. (The current was kuribo64.bplaced.net....good times.)

The first REAL galaxy to get progress on was Sky High, but it was never done past the 2nd area. The second one to get attention was Rolling Halfpipe, but that didn't even get finished past the first planet. Mostly anything after that was small, and didn't get any attention.

After that, people just started losing interest in the project, and therefore, we declared it dead.
Although, a little while later, the 1-world demo idea was created. This was to pick some of the best design ideas (or ones that would be already modeled to make stuff easier) and put them in an amazing 1-world demo.

And that is where we are now.

Actually, Anarchy in The Galaxy was released in June 2010. I joined Super Mario Galaxy 2.5 when I discovered Glem3's thread on RVlution. Now, the One World Hack has a smaller team. I am not part of the One World Hack due to lack of interest in SMG hacking. But, I made a thread for the One World Hack on Kafuka even though it did not do much to interest people.

And now we are here with the One World Hack. Actually, the team is here since I am no longer part of it as a stated above. :P
I'm also slowly starting to remember my SMG2.5 ideas.

In the end, I'll probably just end up creating Lasso Desperado Galaxy with Rosalink13 as a custom SMG2 level.

I'm the one he's talking about who asked for the site and project's history by the way. :P

Anyway, this is all really interesting. I'll have to look more into it later.

Correction: Glem started the project in December of 2010, not 2011. I know this because I joined in February of 2011 :P

I also remember that one of your earliest ideas was wooden Flip-Swap panels and wooden Beat Blocks for Flip-Swap Galaxy. ;)

I believe this history lesson has forgotten the undeveloped lungs.

I would also like to note that it was declared dead on 30 December 2013.

Sorry for the bump, but did SB do Whitehole before he helped with SMG2.5? I read on the "Goodbye SMG.5" thread that NWP did a discovery by finding Whitehole.

Whitehole was already in the works even before 2.5 was introduced (I think it was C# at first, but when we contacted him at NSMBHD, it was already Java with working rendering for SMG1)

Yeah I remember you being like literally one of the first SMG2.5 members alongside Glem3. :3

I joined like three months after the SMG2.5 boards were made. I changed a lot of nicknames, got banned numerous times, actually had some fun (lol), trolled (unfortunately), etc.

Some of those things i'm admittedly not proud of, but I just have to be honest.

I HIGHLY doubt that. I might be wrong, but SMG2.5 had already been going on for like one or two years before the migration to Kuribo64 and the eventual conception and release of Whitehole. Anarchy however, was before 2.5.

EDIT: Nevermind, he means post-model importer SMG2.5 had begun development after Whitehole was in conception, which is entirely true.

StapleButter started gaining interest in SMG hacking around late April 2012. WhiteHole was discovered by SMG2.5 around late May 2012.

And yeah, I was the eighth user to register.

Edit: Before joining SMG2.5, StapleButter was working on SM64DSe, which turned out to be failure back then along with the previous iteration of Kuribo64.

Wait, I'm not suppose to be here.
