Dolphiilution
for the cool kids who have too much processing power on their hands (not for pirates)

Hi!

recently, my dad and I got the idea of building an HTPC, which is basically a computer which is used for DVD playing and stuffs.
As my dad wants to stuff a lot of processing power in that thing (please don't ask why), I guessed I'd better do something with
that power and play Wii games on that computer. Twice the native resolution.

But then I wouldn't be able to screw up games anymore, or I'd have too patch ISO's and do all the things Riivolution did for me
manually. And because I am lazy this is inconvenient, I built Dolphiilution.

Dolphiilution is written in C# (since you'd be emulating on a Windows computer anyway. And screw Macs) and is able to read
Riivolution XML's and their patches of an SD card or any folder you want. You can use your original SD card you use for your Wii,
but you can also create a folder called 'SD' (or whatever you want, you just need to mimic the file tree of a typical Riivo SD).

Currently, it works but it's rather slow. The program has to decompile the ISO (luckily this is being done while you are selecting
your options, then copy over the files and rebuild the ISO all over again. I don't see any solution to this, unless there's a
program out there which is faster than 'WIT' (I think there is not). I still need to optimize the UI for use with a (Wii?) remote
and such, but I thought I'd just let you know it's there and it works.

I'm facing a problem though: piracy. Previously, it wasn't that easy patching an ISO with any custom made game Riivolution stuff
in just a few clicks (which I find good), but this tool could possibly change that. I'm looking into how I can possible prevent
this kind of stuff, but I guess the only way is to not release a download link and keep it for myself (only send it to people
I can trust). I'm sure there's people out there whos disk drive is broken or doing spazzy things and are using backup loaders
to run their games and keep their Wii alive. I figured these people might also like to enjoy custom content,
so that's why I don't know what to do.

That's all I had to say. Feedback, comments, whatever you want to throw at me is appreciated, downloads are (if you have read the
paragraph above) not available, for now. Thank you for reading :)

Nice program, but I think it'd be somewhat rendered useless by this trick: https://kuribo64.net/?page=thread&id=681.

I could adapt this program to work with that. I think :p

Yes, I'm sorry. I discovered about the Linux versions later. Going to rewrite it in Mono or Java maybe.

I'd suggest Mono, as your tool is already written in C#. I personally use Xojo to code apps. After having tried Java, C#, and MonoMac, I can actually produce apps with Xojo.

Dolphin also has a Mac version, which I think is being integrated in OpenEmu.

I'll try porting it over this evening. Thanks for your recommendations :)

I figured I'd finish the C# version first, then try to port everything.

Awesome GUI!

=Offtopic=

I'm also getting a System76 PC (installing Windows) and a Galaxy S5. I'm getting tired of Apple's "Control Freak" nature. Bitcoin wallets are a prime example. Apple cannot steal 30% of transactions made in Bitcoin wallets, so that's why they've been banning wallet apps.

C# version is fully functional. On to porting to Java!

Sorry for the bump, but sometimes the alternative: https://kuribo64.net/?page=thread&id=681.
doesn't work for some people (it works for me, but only on some games)

Are you able to release this for the public?

Due to the lack of support of the Dolphin community, I have decided to halt the development of this program. It works for some games.

That: https://kuribo64.net/?page=thread&id=681 don't work for me. Can you please give a download link so people can use it for SMG?

https://github.com/Sevenanths/dolphiilution

Use the "C# Efficient" version. But take notice, it isn't completed and won't magically work for you.

The version isn't updated on Github. I'll push the new ones over there tonight.

Crap. Gimme a sec.
EDIT: Committing...
EDIT: Committed! Not that there's a binary on there. Find that one here: Find it here: http://g2f.nl/0rjslfu The password is 'potatoonastick', without the quotes, of course.
