World Map Editor (v0.2)

Created by MrRean and PhantomWings

For the past couple of months many people have asked for a world map editor.

Yet nobody has created one...

But not anymore!

This world map editor has a 2D view so the user can see what the map would look like in-game!
Plus, it can edit any type of map. EVEN BETTER; The user doesn't even have to extract the bcsv files! You just have to select the .arc file for the galaxy.

I can't release this yet but I couldn't wait to get the word out that this is finally being done by somebody.

So PhantomWings and I decided to join up and make a World Map Editor since nobody was doing it. And so, here it is.

Download v0.2
Download v0.3

Thanks!
~MrRean

Yay! This is most excellent for certain!

Can you change the background for the maps?

ugh It's not that it's hard it's that I'm lazy on the most parts lol :P

Also I didn't release because some maps don't fit on the plane and World 1 doesn't load at all

Can you at least release what you have as an unstable beta? I'm really anxious to see this.

to edit the background, just open the world maps in whitehole or anarchy. Because its just a model that's used along with the map controller.

Anyway, good job MrRean and PhantomWings :)

the world map editor is not a win-32 application, says my computer. can you make one for win32?

Does your computer have the .NET framework installed? You need that to run it.

This works beautifully. But there's no vertical scroll camera, so no vertical maps.

The Editor is now v0.3.

-Fixed the World 1 loading issue
-Added key shortcuts
-Internal fix of AnarchGalaxy2.dll not being read correctly
-Internal fix of mapView1 being misread
-Should support win32 and win64 types
-Created a credits/help box

This is really cool and it works good, but there are two features that would create lifesavers on this.

- An undo button
- The ability to click/drag to edit
- Arrow control for coordinates

Also as to be expected the World Maps can be a bit buggy at times.

Not to undermine what MrRean did, but you should be thanking PhantomWings too, considering he wrote the BCSV library and renderer.
