What.

This is...what.

Computer stahp you're getting too smart @,@

Lets just take a moment and think about the implications of this, especially if it becomes commercially available.

Holy shat. O_O
Imagine the possibilities if it works well.
I just have no idea how it would work. I suppose it can't create the other side of the model, but that doesn't really matter for many uses.

There's always a light at the end of the tunnel. Of course, it's usually an oncoming express train.

Slow and steady gets you trampled by the other guys.

I predict that you should have a high contrast between the object your capturing and tje background. For example, there was a rusted sink with a green background.

Its not too hard to do, but i wonder, how does it make ot 3d, i mean, how does it know that the object will turn out to be a square prism instead of a cube, the software cannot see depth. I wonder how it'll turn out.

It does create the other side of objects in photos by predicting how it looks. It goes with what the most likely shape of the other side is, usually some kind of symmetry. If the other side of the object were some random shape but was not visible at all in the photo, the program wouldn't be able to create the other side accurately.

That said, it's looking to be an amazing program--being able to literally draw something and turn it into a 3D model is an awesome thought. (Obviously it would have to be drawn well though, with good perspective.)

Also, the video on that page I linked explains it needs input to define axes and shapes, but it's incredibly easy to do by just dragging the cursor to indicate the dimensions.

Ah but you never posted about it c:

Either way it's some pretty damn amazing stuff. Did I mention it can auto-texture the models as well, based on the image?

No, it's not commercially available as of yet. I believe it was just unveiled recently. No indication of when it'll become public or how much it'll cost.
