gc is right. I'll pair up with someone to make a visual design based off of my written design. Then we can model, import, and create this galaxy.
EDIT: That was the rough draft, according to new system, I will have to edit it with more detail and post it soon.

Platforming on the comet in the crack is interesting. It should have a few areas on it that have shallow water and possibly water fountain geysers. It is always hilarious to see Mario get pushed up by a foutain geyser. The comet itself could also have its own giant crack. Who woudn't want to venture inside the comet? The crack could be a spiral one that leads to a room in the center of the comet. The Power Star could be in the center of the comet.


To add to that, here is another idea. Mario could walk on the edged walls of the cliff. Walking on the walls could open up possibility for caves only accessible on the walls (with or cheat codes). And in the caves, you walk on the caves' walls. Think of it like walking on the ground and you can access the tunnel by falling into a hole. (Ground-wall, tunnel-cave, hole-cave opening)

Perhaps the chasm should be on the main planet. Why would it be on another planet?
As this galaxy is 3 star, maybe:
Star 1- First part- Crossing many small chasms and cracks to reach the Yoshi base (with big chasm empty and with dark matter at bottom) , to fight off a bunch of enemies just camping near the Yoshi base.
Star 2- Descending into the chasm. (with dark matter strategically placed at the bottom to stop players from just jumping into it)

A part of the planet has a giant cave-like wall (sort of like a sideways bowl) with an upside-down chasm that is bigger than the small chasms, but smaller than the main chasm. The upside-down could have it's own gravity, as you could be able to walk up the wall. The wall would require platforming. There are cracks in the wall. If you fall through a crack, you simply fall to back to the planet and have to climb up again. The upside-down chasm has the entire with normal gravity (you fall back to planet if you touch the bottom).

I'm not sure if it's too late to be adding to the galaxy's overall design, but what types of dinosaur bones are we working with? Would it be possible to use a large dinosaur skeleton to cross a gap in the chasm? Now, is this place meant to be lit, or dark? If dark, perhaps it could be lit by various torches, as a part of a mine. The green toad of the toad brigade could also be found mining away at the walls, searching for rare and pricey minerals to bring back to the captain. Will there be any Yoshi NPCs found in the chasm, or will they all be in the "Yoshi village"?
