Since all of the other threads regarding this game were locked and/or trashed. I've decided to make a thread specifically for this game.
Talk about Super Mario 3D World here! Now many of you probably know I have a bad history with this game, and DON'T WORRY I won't bash it, I just think it's disappointing as a follow up to Super Mario Galaxy 2. But I like the Cat Powerup, and playable Peach, don't really care for multiplayer though since most of my real life friends don't even play Mario games (WHY NO ONLINE NINTENDO ;-; ). I also like the music even though most people don't seem to like it. Discuss. |

It's on topic.  I don't really much story departure from the mainstream - It's pretty much as uncreative as it gets when it comes to Mario story.
(Not to say it'll be bad, you know I'm optimistic about the gameplay) Status: It was really, really fun, guys - thanks for the ride!

The only thing mario has is singleplayer. Multiplayer does not exist. So the singleplayer must be something the fans like. Since the game has restrictions, since its E for everyone, then nintendo doesnt have many options. And why make a new story when the one they use is very well known and loved? They'll just waste money and time if they make a new story and they know it.

No uh their normal story of "Bowser kidnaps the princess and nothing else" is not "loved" by anyone. Everyone thinks it's old and unoriginal, but we don't complain because The main 2D and 3D Mario games are not about story. If you wanna play a Mario game with a good story then you can play ANY Mario RPG game (besides Sticker Star)
And what do you mean "multiplayer does not exist"? Sure the 3D Marios have either crap or no multiplayer, but the 2D games do. And I think that the only reason SM3DW was made was for them to release a multiplayer 3D Mario as well as have a System Seller. And then remember certain mods do exist.... Well, if nintendo changes the story of mario, then they might mess it up.
About the multiplayer aspect. That isnt multiplayer, thats coop, and its not online, its just you and 3 other max in the same tv. Real multiplayer is people on different consoles playing the same game and interacting with eachother over the internet. I dont think sm3dw will be a system seller in total honesty. |

Well, Super Mario 3D Land is one of the most popular games on the 3ds, so I guess this is only a system seller. SM3DL had really small levels, which are good for a mobile device, but for a home console are too small and short. |

Yeah i'd say I hope they extend them but most of the demo levels I saw were short, just like SM3DL. |

Well, they are demos, expect larger levels. If the levels turn out not being larger, then fuck them, how dare they make smaller levels than wii having more powerful specs. |

Why do I get the feeling that Nintendo is stalking my life On topic, you really have to understand that Nintendo's in a bind here. As much as all of us here want to see the next Galaxy, I don't believe that's the case with the rest of the gaming industry. I bet Miyamoto would love to make another SMG, but he and the rest of the staff have run out of ideas...hello, SMG2's special world. While I'm really not excited for SM3DW, we're not gonna get anything better for a while, in my opinion. ____________________ blarg. It had to go somewhere.
