I use Windows 8. I don't hate it, but I don't use most of the features. It also has a really annoying bug with GM8 where if a sound plays every step it crashes the game.

Yeah isn't that pretty normal? The steps will (if your roomspeed is 30) play a sound 30 times a second. What do you expect the game to do?
