How can I import Airship Fortress (a Mario Kart DS Track) into SM64ds?
Just a pointer would be nice. With all the textures, ect. |

MKDS Course Modifier lets you export NSBMD models to OBJ which can then be imported into SM64DS.
Open a MKDS ROM and go to /data/Course/ Go to /data/Course/ |

Gericom could probably help you more with that. The .mtl file might have some clues. |

As that method did not really work, I did something else:
I used beta 9 version of MKDS viewed the nsbmd and nsbtx together then exported the model with also exported the mtl and the pngs with the correct file names into one folder. Then I imported that into a level. It worked but it said the textures were too much for the memory and would crash the game or cause glitches. I haven't managed to move the entrance to a suitable place yet either. |

Posted by Hiccup Didn't know you could open them together. You can try loading the level anyway and see if it loads, if not, you'll have to shrink some of the textures. When shrinking textures I import the model into Blender, shrink the image and reload it under UV Mapping and then re-export it - this avoids problems with incorrect scaling when importing using SM64DSe. Also, remove any textures that are just one colour and replace them with material colours to save space. Also, make sure you remove any texture animations in the level or change the texture name it points to, otherwise the level will crash. |

File>Import OBJ
Switch to Edit mode instead of Object Mode Select the face with the texture to reload, and switch to UV Image Editor. |
