As you probably already know, we changed our address to kuribo64.net because CJB.net, the webhost that has been providing kuribo64.cjb.net for free for so long, has stopped providing free services. They said that address would expire on May 16th, and we're past that date.
But everyone is aware and has updated their bookmarks so that's not the problem. The problem comes with Whitehole and SM64DSe. Both editors have auto-update functions for their object databases. They download from kuribo64.cjb.net. The address will be updated in the next releases, but in the meantime, existing versions will attempt to download from an address that doesn't exist anymore. I don't know about SM64DSe, but I got reports that this issue caused trouble to Whitehole. The fix If you don't care about auto-updating: (note: auto-updating for SM64DSe is useless as the SM64DS ObjectDB is still closed) Disable auto-updating in the editor's settings, and download the last ObjectDB: Whitehole - SM64DSe If you want to keep auto-updating: Add the following line to your hosts file: (under Windows: C:\Windows\System32\Drivers\etc\hosts -- you need admin privileges to edit it) 85.195.86.111 kuribo64.cjb.net Sorry for the inconvenience. We'll release fixed versions asap. ____________________ NSMBHD - Kafuka - Jul melonDS the most fruity DS emulator there is zafkflzdasd |

For Linux, I believe it's /etc/hosts. |

SM64DSe doesn't crash, it just says that the update failed. After changing the server address to "https://kuribo64.net/" the object database updates fine if you choose 'Update Object Database'. However, if you select automatic updating, it fails - adding ?ts=... to the end gives 404 Not Found. |

Annoyingly, kuribo64.cjb.net is still the first choice when I enter 'k' in the address bar. Any way to change that? |

I've wondered, why is Kuribo .net and not .com? I thought .net was only for business related sites. ____________________

Nothing dictates what a specific domain is for, it's all a question of habitude. And there's a couple of reasons for kuribo64.net:
* the old address was kuribo64.cjb.net. Choosing a .net domain minimized the change. * .net is among the cheapest domain name extensions. .com is too, but it tends to make you look like a commercial site... ____________________ NSMBHD - Kafuka - Jul melonDS the most fruity DS emulator there is zafkflzdasd |

What would be the most expensive extension? .gov? ____________________

This whole auto-updater thing isn't working, I added the thing to hosts and all though.
I'm not very experienced at this kind of stuff, is there something I might have done wrong?

Get rid of the # in front of the line with kuribo64 - a hash means it's a comment and gets ignored. |

For the hosts file thing, you can do this on Linux:
su -c "echo 85.195.86.111 kuribo64.cjb.net >> /etc/hosts" |
