I have two possible ideas for this game. Both ideas have a level editor provided by Nintendo:
Super Mario Sunshine 2 with visitation to all 14 islands and an enemy viewer like the Ghost Container in Luigi's Mansion 2: Dark Moon. A Partners in Time-like game with Baby and Baby Luigi in addition to Mario and Luigi. Also has an enemy viewer. Edit: The game is now said to come out this year. I think you meant something similar to SM64. SM3DL' concepts are SMG (SM64) mixed with NSMB. That is why it turned out pretty awesome. With the Mario 3F Wii U, however; I would like something along the lines of SM64 and SMS.

I personally don't have a clue what it could be or will be, but as long as it will be as amazing as the other 3D Marios I don't really care either 
However I wonder if it'll be SMG3.... Imagine Super Mario Galaxy in HD! People hate on linearity, but that's what Mario is all about. Open worlds bore me to death, but the galaxies always leave me wanting more |

I do not want a SMG3 since it will be botching/milking the SMG3. Even if it turns out to be the best video game ever, it'll still be a milk in my opinion. There is one thing we both agree on: Super Mario Sunshine 2! I'm sure the original SMS is being planned for Wii U virtual console, so why not SMS2 for Wii U? I know a couple of months earlier I said SMS2 for 3DS, but the GamePad and Pro Controller satisfy the GameCube controls.

See, I'm also very against 3d land for wii u. That was a fantastic 3ds game, but it can never replace the 3d marios. I consider 3d land NSMB in 3d, not a 3d Mario game. |

Holy fuck! According to CVG, Nintendo is planning to release the 3D Mario for Wii U by October this fall.

Actually, I'm believing the October release with Nintendo outsourcing the graphics work. (Hint: Smash Bros was probably outsourced to Namco for the same reason, and the "public" reason being the 3DS version).
If they're actually outsourcing graphics work, then that means all Ninty has to do is the programming and the other non-graphics work. Having two teams can do a whole hell of alot more than just doing everything by yourself. (That's why Apple has a team for OS X and team for iOS. If needed either one can "borrow" coders from one another) |

Well since Skelux already made a SM64 sequel (which I personally think Nintendo themselves couldnt have made better, provided that they had the same tools as him and only had ONE person work on the entire sequel ), and we're making a SMG2 sequel, so I'd actually want nintendo to either do a SMS sequel or a brand new concept (but one that plays and is like SM64, SMS and SMG, not like 3D Land).
Maybe the next 3D Mario could involve Time Travel (Mario's already been across Space, so Time sounds the most logical after that).
