Thanks for the GBATek link - it was very helpful.
I've now got it working more or less perfectly - some models have 1 or 2 faces missing but you can just fill them in with Blender as the vertices are still there. Here's the same model as earlier (it was the castle courtyard) and the main castle grounds as they appear now after exporting: They look identical when re-imported (minus textures). I'll also be adding the ability to export objects' models.
