botw is sorta like one huge map, but under the hood it's just a bunch of parts stuck together. when you cross over through one of these "borders" between sections, the game might freeze for a sec to load the next section.
this is really noticeable with speedrunners, since they have a trick that allows them to go super fast, these quick freezes can turn into upwards of 10 seconds of waiting. ____________________ yeah |

Hey, so I just stumbled upon this pretty old thread and I'm really curious if it's actually dead or not. I wouldn't be suprised if it is, being such an ambitious project and with the lack of updates for so long. but I figured it couldn't hurt to try and find out.
Hope you're all doing okay regardless of this project! |

If you have a post for a modding project that lists expectations up like - 5 modelers - 10 programmers - 5 musicians, chances are that project has never even had its feet lifted off the ground. Usually these are very overambitious, lead by somebody who is very young and does not know how to lead a project, and brings next to nothing to the table for the project themself. I think this video gets that point across pretty well, to be the lead of a modding project, you need to bring something to the table and actually be able to work on the mod yourself, otherwise nobody else will care to even consider joining, because they know it won't end up as much. You also cannot make your first project the biggest thing ever, you need to start small and work your way up. Lots of people don't understand this, and then let their failure in making a huge project be what ticks them off modding alltogether. I saw this recently in a Super Mario Bros. Wonder project, where there was about 20 people on the team but a majority of them were just musicians, with 1 (one) level designer on the team, and the project lead did not even have a modded switch to even play their own mod. Not only for SMBW, but also very often in NSMBU, NSMBW, SM3DW, basically any game you can think of do I see this. Very sad |

And NSMBDS. On NSMBHD there are these threads in which n00bz want to recruit people... before they even started working on their hack! No screenshots or anything. They always get closed with the same words: nobody will do anything for you unless you show us some progress. "To boldly glitch where no one has glitched before" - Staryu Trek |
