In my state it's only $25 to renew your license.

It was back in 2016 that I decided that I don't wanna drive because I can't be bothered to pick up a manual and read, plus license, registration, insurance, etc...

I'm perfectly fine with all the downsides of not owning my own car.

The time I went go-karting upstate is probably the closest I'll get to owning an automobile. Lol.

because people won't do you any favors if you don't give them money.

also, 40 every how often?

40 every 5 years or so? I think. I just know it's over several years. So long-term, it's not too bad, but that's 40 I rather be spending on video games.

eh I'm in Los Angeles. Pretty much need a car to get to places; bus isn't as practical. I'm probably a gas burning heathen, but oftentimes, I just don't have that much of a choice.

Oh sure having a car maybe right for some. I mean a lot of people have jobs with auto vehicles that are pretty important to us.

Myself personally just can't be bothered with a new piece of responsibility I don't need/want. My teachers and friends and my summerboss recommended me to, but I just don't want it.

So instead I choose to become more knowledgeable on being a non-driver. I hope it sticks too.

On that note, I might just go back to old-school taxis soon, Uber is so ticking me off right now.

Well, having the skill at the minimum's always helpful, it'll help you on independence. Also, if you rent or lease a car, I don't think you have to worry about the periodic maintenance, so that's also nice.

If anything I'd rather license myself to rent a car or go carsharing, but that's for EXTREME EDGE cases where I CAN NOT transport any other way.

But I think you have to pay for rentalcar/carsharing insurance if I do decide to rent/carshare a car. So that's still kinda off-putting.

regulated capitalism isn't even that good i'm not gonna lie

actual socialism run by a competent government that isn't oppressive while also not complete fucking pushovers is the ideal thing to happen but it never will

until then, i will continue to complain about neoliberals. fuck neoliberals

Yeah I think community-owned goods is still better than individualism and all. Neoliberals do suck, too, and guess what, the U.S. is being run by them too. It's how our institutions keep getting deregulated, we keep pursuing expensive wars, we keep getting tax cuts for the rich. I hate them.

Why, because capitalism isn't serious??? Well I think it's pretty goddamn serious considering its ramifications.
