This is a romhack for Super Mario 64 that lets you play as a Finalized version of the Gigaleak Luigi as the Nintendo developers would have had him in the game in 1996.

Special Features:

GlideN64 - Widescreen object clipping fixed
[thumbnail]

Jabo 1.6 - Widescreen skybox+object clipping & black circles around HUD icons fixed! Finally!!!
[thumbnail]

Five Classic Skins
1. OG Luigi from Classic Mario Bros. NES and Super Smash Bros. Melee (White shirt + Dark Green pants)
2. Super Mario Bros. 1 Luigi (Green shirt + White pants)
3. Super Mario Bros. 3 Luigi (Bright Green shirt + Black pants)
4. Super Mario World Luigi / Smash 64 Luigi (Bright Green shirt + Purple pants)
5. Super Mario Super Show Luigi (Blue Shirt + Green Pants)
[thumbnail]

Rideable Yoshi
After you speak to Yoshi he'll join you on your adventure. Yoshi Eggs will appear in most stages right where Luigi spawns. He's got a handful of tricks up his sleeve and between the ability to eat just about anything including Stars and his Special Triple Flutter Jumps, he can be very cheap, making the game waaay more opened up!

Original Description:
Merry Christmas Luigi Fans, today on Christmas 2020 have I got a gift for you!
The prophecy of L is Real 2401 was true, and 24 years + 1 month after Super Mario 64 was released, the official Nintendo model for Luigi was leaked online.

While Cjes made a wonderful Super Luigi 64, King Geoshi Koopshi improved upon it in Super Luigi 64 1.1, and through those efforts True64 brought us Super Luigi 64 2.0 (all well before my romhacking time) I still felt there had simply not been a way to play as Luigi the way Nintendo would have made him in 1996.
Meaning before Mario Kart 64, before Mario 64DS, or Luigi's Mansion. What would Nintendo have done with Luigi in Super Mario 64?
Well this summer that prophecy gave us our first glimpse of such a thing, and in this updated Super Luigi 64 you will find the official Nintendo model for Luigi! (finalized by the talented and patient Marshivolt)

You will not have to worry about being extra slippery, or having to move with strange animations, or missing out on Luigi saying iconic SM64 voice lines. The fact is Super Mario 64's pre-expansion pack audio engine ran out of memory very easily, I added just two new voice clips and it caused a memory overflow during the ending and Peach went mute half way in. I had to take those new lines out, and only recently in SM64EX have they finally recoded the game enough to support multiple voices. Furthermore adding new voice clips for a second playable character pushes the game size over the 8MB cart limit. Sakurai knew that due to these hardware limitations the original intention for Luigi's voice when he was still in Super Mario 64 was to use transposed Mario voice clips already present in the game. He used this plan for his Smash Bros. series to wonderful effect and that is preserved here today. The real Luigi voice.
Sometimes memory limitations give us the most endearing game features. : )
Mario is Luigi's twin and the old school Mario games that Shigeru Miyamoto directed all gave us that feeling. Super Mario 64 was the final Mario game he directed, and this is how I believe he would have made Luigi.

Presented here, 100% complete, with extra coding to add widescreen support for GlideN64 & Jabo 1.6 with the black circles around the HUD icons finally removed, along with four classic skin mods, I proudly bring you Super Luigi 64 - Purist Edition

There's not a better Luigi mod out there. This is how I would imagine Luigi if he were completed by Nintendo in Super Mario 64. The "fiinalized" version of Nintendo's model + Smash style voice clips are a perfect combination, and I have no doubt that this is what we would've gotten in 1996 had he not been scrapped.

Keep up the amazing work PimpUigi.

Honestly? I disagree. This may be more accurate to Nintendo's vision, but I believe Cjes's model looked better than Nintendo's.
EDIT: Eh, you know what, nevermind. This does say Purist Edition and "purist" is quite certainly one of the last words I'd use to describe myself.

Hearing stuff like this really makes all the work feel worth it. : )
Thank you.

I do intend to add Rideable Yoshi in an update down the road. Give us a nice reason to get 120 Stars again!

How would you be able to program that?

There's a Metal Cap block under the first bridge in Bob-omb Battle that isn't supposed to be there.

I had a blast watching your Lets Play.
Watched the whole thing. : )

Before you do your 70 Star run, you should know this is going to receive an update in about two months.
Marshivolt sent me a further improved Luigi model.
Potentially going to have Anamorphic Widescreen Toggle for people playing on the N64/Wii hardware.
Crossing my fingers we get rideable Yoshi done as well.

Hi everyone.

This Luigi mod is really nice, great work! Would it be possible to have the source assets? Because I would like to use them for a decompiled SM64 fork, then I need to keep my rom untouched and apply those assets manually before compiling the binary.

Thanks!
