Okay guys, today you'll be seeing the revised version of this planet and possibly a draft for another, so please give me the edits you want to see and I'll try to make them work

Planet 2

Planet 2 Description:Mario lands at the bottom left. There are a couple of iron goombas. The player immediately notices the strange shape on this first subplanet. It goes straight up, and back down again. Mario can walk up this 90 degree slope with ease, and when he gets over, sees that the path turns sideways. On this sideways path is a purple piranha plant that must be killed. Once Mario gets the plant, a vine pops out of the ground. However, this vine is a silver metal! Mario slides across to the second subplanet, which is a square like planet. This section is very similar to the beginning of puzzle plank. There are four "nail" mushrooms in each corner. Instead of wigglers in the middle, there's a sentry beam, adding lots of difficulty. Ground pounding each mushroom will cause something different to happen. One will shoot out a couple of star bits. One will shoot out a couple of coins. One will make a line of coins appear above the sentry beams head for Mario to bounce up and grab. The last will do absolutely nothing (trololol...) Mario will then need to travel across the screw from Dreadnought galaxy. I didn't include this in the drawing, but there will be a bird from Fluffy Bluff to make it even harder. If Mario can get past that, he'll reach the third subplanet. There will be two nail mushrooms at the beginning of this subplanet, each shooting out star bits. There will also be a star bit crystal in the corner. Metal flowers will be there for decoration, but don't be caught off guard. Around those flowers is a piranha plant! Get past that and you're just about done. Hop up the large Screw Mushrooms and get to the launch star.

Pretty nice design so far! The Flaptack during the Dreadnought bolt section adds some great difficulty to the galaxy.

The part after the Dreadnought bolt may need more hazards though. I know the Piranha Plant will catch you off guard but it seems like there should be more to it.

Maybe some of the Flower Traps that eat Mario could help you platform across the big mushroom screws? Flower Traps seem like a good inclusion to have here.

Depends whether or not the flaptack follows you

hm, the first area seems pretty nice, much better than the previous design.

Excellent progress. Your art for Planet 1 is very detailed and organized. I can see the first planet already being a finalized portion of the design.

Based on what I see from your updated design, it looks like the Flaptack should follow Mario until the Piranha Plant. An advantage to note is that Flaptacks cannot be killed via pits as demonstrated in Flash Black. It will just fly back up after a while like when it becomes stunned.

This seems to be going to be quite a detailed design.
(More reviews to since you're spreading out your updates)
There's no real need to ask about every single enemy placement, it's the shape/plan of the planets that's most important.

There's always a light at the end of the tunnel. Of course, it's usually an oncoming express train.

Slow and steady gets you trampled by the other guys.

This looks very good. My only critique is that, in my opinion, the stage should start out with a larger area to give the player a better idea of the aesthetic. I also pictured the level having some more spherical/gravity bits. Right now it looks mostly flat. That said, you've got the feel down.

There's going to be a spherical metal sun. I posted a drawing, but when I trashed the first attempt, that went too. I do plan on bringing it back though.

And yeah I agree about the large planet thing. I started this new design thinking how I could make a vast yet fairly linear planet like fluffy bluff, but in all honesty I'm not so good with those :P

I can try adding a planet like that before this, but it might suck

Ye be warned...

I'm liking this, good job HP9. No problems here.

This may be difficult to read. Ask if you have any questions

Planet 4:

Ignore the Planet 3 label (it's from my old design)

Feedback is always appreciated!

To be continued...

Planet 2 is great so far. I especially like the bouncy acorn and the inflatable grapes are a nice challenge although a couple grapes may need to be added to keep the difficulty balanced with the rest of the level.

The clouds powered by propellors are a cool idea. The Comet Medal has a good placement in being after the Launch Star.

The metal sun looks good but it seems a little small. The spiky yellow Sentry Beams might be a good addition in my opinion.

This is a great design! HRE already stated what was good about it, so I get to provide criticism. :P

The designs are VERY original planet-wise, except for Planet 4. It reminds me a lot of the drill planet from Cosmic Cove, and for some reason that bothers me. Not a major flaw, but, it may do with a revision. (If only aesthetic) ;)
Status: It was really, really fun, guys - thanks for the ride!

For some reason, the bottom planet of Planet 3 reminds me of Sky High's bonus zone o.O

o.o

Wait. Ose dreadnaught screws are possible?

Anyway, I think that there should be a bit less mushrooms...
