Here is my design for Flarefrost Galaxy Star 2! Note: A lot is going to be different than Star 1, as this continues off of what Star 1 did. So without further ado, here Wii go!

The background is going to be not split like Star 1 is. Purple or pink will be the general color of the background, but remember the falling fireballs/icicles? They will both be falling (icicles) and rising (fireballs) at the same time. The reason this is is because the Lava and The ice have both mashed up in this star. This is another one of MC's ideas, and really interested me, so I am expanding off of that. The background will also feature stars as well, and maybe even a few Nebulas if the texturers get around to it. The first star lacked space elements, so this background is going to make up for that.

The first planet is actually 2 - both comets from the last mission have collided, and all sorts of insanity is happening on them. There is steam coming from where they both collided, and some elements from one have come to the other. The Ice comet now has patches of lava, and the Lava comet has patches of moving ice. So Mario starts on the ice comet. The tails are both intact, albeit steam is present in both of them. Mario must move around the ice comet to avoid the lava (there are multiple paths). If Mario ventures to the bottom of the ice comet, he will find a helpful 1-up. Mario then crosses to the lava comet. He needs to jump on the moving ice platform carefully. In addition, there are moving fireballs across both the ice comet and lava comet, so Mario needs to beware. The moving ice platforms take him to the end of the lava comet, and he takes a launch star to the next planet.

The next planet is a new one - it is a large, almost canyon like pit, which has a odd mix of lava and small chunks of ice. Falling in it will still result in instant death. Mario lands on one side, and has to get to the other. How might you ask - frozen snake blocks! These snake blocks act just like normal ones (like Toxic Terror's), but its more difficult because everything is frozen. The ride starts out smooth at first, but then, enemies such as Ice Swoopers come in. A Fire Flower comes onto the snake blocks, and it can be used to stop the enemies. The real challenge comes once the meteors come in! And the snake blocks are starting to move faster and with more complex movements (they go up and down). This section will last about 2 minutes, and then, it is off to the next planet. Mario takes a launch star. It can be inferred that that this planet is the cave planet from the first mission (morphed).

Mario then lands on the slide planet. This planet is actually both the lava track and the ice track fused, and completely reworked. It is a crazy, gravity included slide with both lava and ice. So the slide starts off simple - with just ice and some snow, but the ice could be a bit slippery. This whole section is covered with mist, so Mario cannot see the planets in the background. Once down a bit, the gravity starts to kick in, and now there is lava. This makes the slide more challenging, as Mario must now slide to the side to avoid the lava. Eventually, meteors start to approach, making things even more deadly. Near the end of the ice section, it becomes a tunnel of ice, with spots of Lava that Mario has to avoid or even jump over. This is where this part gets the hardest. Mario then thinks he is done with the slide. On the ending platform, there is nothing but a hole. Mario falls down the hole, which is surrounded with both lava and ice. At the bottom, Mario finds out there is a part 2 to the slide - and it is mostly lava! Mario has to don the ice flower, and he is off. Mario skates (it is still a slide, but Mario must skate on the ice flower), and his obstacles are blocks of ice that are in the way. It is open at first, but once again, gravity kicks in, and crazy twists happen while still going downwards, and icicles start falling in addition to more meteors and an enclosed cave near the end. During this cave, the whole roof is made of snow, so Mario should not touch it, or it would break his momentum. There are enough ice flowers to make sure that Mario doesn't stop. At the very end of this tunnel, the tunnel REALLY opens up into this HUGE tunnel. Mario now is not always going downward (he had to go downward on the slide), and has control of where he is going. At the opposite end of the HUGE tunnel, there is a launch star, that takes him to the final planets.

The launch star takes Mario to a very large sun made of lava that has two icy rings around it (think of an atom, but with the center being all lava and the two rings being ice). Fire shooters make their way around the lava center. There is lots of gravity here, with the rings each having their own independent gravity. The rings are 2 paths that go all the way around the planet. Once I get to a drawing, it will make sense. the first ring is lower, and the second ring is higher. Mario lands on the second ring. There is enough clearance to safely skate, but there is a high risk of falling off of the ring and landing in the deadly center. Mario must get from the second ring to the first ring (they do intersect), without falling. The first ring has much less room.. Once on the first ring, Mario must now collect the 5 star chips that are on this ring. There are deadly Burrs and Cindurrs here as well to mess up Mario. To avoid them, Mario must jump while skating. Once the star chips have been collected, Mario takes a launch star to the final planet - a frozen sun. This planet has no obstacles, has the fiery center the last sun planet had, but the outside is made of all ice. It is a perfect blend of both lava and ice. The power star is here too, and the second star has been completed!

This is Star 2. I think I did put more effort into Star 1, but this is a pretty solid Star 2. I can make adjustments if I need to, but I think this one turned out fine.

I'm liking this design as well. This is purely aesthetic, but having smoke doesn't make any sense. Since it's fire and water colliding it would make sense for there to be a bunch of steam.

That shall be fixed! Glad you like the design. I was worried that people would think of this slide to be too similar to the track I had in Star 1. But the key difference is you can control where you are going more on the track, but on the slide, Mario is always going down, even while he is skating with the ice flower.

This is a great concept mg3! Quite original

Owait.

Hm actually mg3 you should probably change the slide to something else. It may look different than the previous star's challenge but the gameplay seems very similar. (This is why I was opposed to having Flarefrost in 2.5, because I haven't seen any really creative ideas using a theme that's already had two galaxies in previous games.) But try something else, maybe something that gets some of its difficulty from the fact that the fire flower is timed.

I would still like a slide. How about instead, I make it a snow slide with rock and fire? I haven't used a whole lot of snow nor rock in this galaxy.

Ehhh what if you had all your non-slide ideas be Star 1, and all your slide ideas make up Star 2, which would focus exclusively on the slide.

Eh, snow wouldn't fit all that well. Only ice, water, and lava really fit here TBH.

Oh and one other thing I haven't seen much of in anyone's designs for this galaxy are the snowballs from Freezy Flake that melt on contact with lava but create platforms. Those could be used for some creative challenges.

Meh. I don't think I will be in mine. I'm focusing more on ice then snow. It is FROSTflare

I actually agree with MC. Later tonight I am going to fully revise the slide part. I actually think I am going to add more jumps, as the track section from my Star 1 had no jumps at all.

:/

*reads board name*

Flarefrost.

But either way, those snowballs were really cool and should be used for something creative, and they would work best in a galaxy of this theme. Plus it would be something new that hasn't been done to death in the previous two fire-ice galaxies.

I'm not saying it was bad, but it just wasn't that fun in my opinion.

MG3, are you thinking about revising this Star 2 design? There are still a few fire/ice mixups ideas that have been mentioned yer. I will eventually think up of naybe a couple ideas.

Well we need to revise it regardless, since designs need to be tweaked to perfection before they can be approved. Plus it needs art and such drawn. There's still quite a bit of work to do.

The Icy Snakeblocks should be slightly fast and be on lava/fire. Another thing are Fiery Snakeblocks that can be safely ridden on by Ice Mario.

^I was actually thinking the same thing. But in this design, the snakeblocks would be over a ravine wasteland of lava and ice.
