How come pretty much every review states that the game has the "Brawl" feel to it? When in reality, it feels more like Melee than anything. Comparing SSB3DS to Brawl is insulting. This compares with Melee, because of it's outstanding performence on a handheld system.

Not to mention the fact that it has Melee's physics for the most part. The only exception I can think of is the fact that edgehogging no longer works.

Uh no. You can airdodge multiple times, you aren't helpless after airdodging, chaingrabs have been removed, no edgehogging, no L-Cancel, Ability to act out of hitstun MUCH faster than Melee and more :P

It's definitely more similar to Brawl than Melee. Only major changes (that make it so people compare it to Melee) is that most attacks are much faster and have less ending lag (which allows combos and make the game faster).

It has none of Melee's physics (if anything BRAWL had more Melee-like physics because you could chaingrab and there were advanced techniques like QAC and Bucket Braking).

This game is much FASTER than Brawl, but "Game Speed" and "Game Physics" are a totally different thing. This is in no way comparable to Melee in any way but Speed (Trust me, I know what I'm talking about) and hitstun....

Yeah or fighting master/crazy hand in classic

Edit: I unlocked the other extra rules. The stamina thing isnt there either.

Try and play in a room/place without any active Televisions, Phones, Laptops or PCs (or anything like that since it causes interference). Charging your 3DS also helps.

Doing the above definitely cut down the lag for me (Over half the lag was gone in a empty room while charging compared to my room with the PC and Phone in it). Still lags and i wish I could have my phone or Laptop nearby because facebook/IRC/Skype, but its a small price to pay.

I wish Smash 4 online was server based and not PvP. Not everyone has as good internet as me and my friends... (and even if they do they're probably in a room with lots of interference...

Despite my internet sucking. Its enoigh to play lagless late at night.

Even, in the day, I played against mg3 and grapeescape and it was lagless (except like 2 battles in total)

A huge improvement over brawl.

Last view: 2937 days ago 		So, I still don't own the game yet, and I don't mean to be "that guy", but I'm not exactly impressed with the videos I've seen (in terms of how people seem to play) because I literally see rolls 24/7. lol

I have a friend at school that does own it on 3DS and tried it for a bit (which I'll gradually get to try more and more lol). Loving the buffs to Ness, but some changes are kinda irritating. There's 3 that are sticking out to me like a sore thumb though. (And no my friend doesn't have all the custom moves and I probs wouldn't have the ability to efficiently test them out anyways)


Ok, so here's what I dislike about him:

- PSI Magnet not being to slow down his descent is screwing with my brain, especially when he doesn't have a reliable way to hit below him. And speaking of that...
However, it kind of shifts his momentum when using it upon jumping, kinda like how Marth's Dancing Blade did in Melee.

- Down Air is REALLY awkward now; I think the spike hitbox is now based on position as opposed to timing. The overall ending lag sucks too. So much lag! X__x

- The Yo-Yos no longer having a hitbox upon charging is pretty aggravating and I find that their uniqueness is now gone. Would be nice if it was still there, especially since I see people roll a LOT.

- Cosmetic wise, I prefer the way the Brawl sparkles looked, as opposed to his Smash 4's sparkles.

-

Now, here's what I DO like.

- The Magnet is HUGE now, and it can even absorb some explosions now; he can absorb (Toon) Link's Bombs, Diddy Kong's Barrel Explosion and even Villager's Gyroid Rocket Explosion. o.o
The lower lag overall is quite nice too.

- PK Thunder can actually KO (or so I've heard, I haven't tested it out for my own), and Ness' KO potential overall is still awesome. PKT2 is a bit easier to hit with (and still powerful as hell) since airdodging to the ground causes lag and there's actually some shield stun (though it still shouldn't be used if someone can clearly shield lol). Finally, if Ness PKT2s into the stage and rebounds off of it, he can try to PK Thunder once again (and only once again), though you have to input the 2nd Up-B quite quickly.

- Thanks to the game physics, PK Fire now traps better, and can setup combos much more reliably. F-air is still awesome despite only doing 7% now with all hits, but it combos so well into itself. Same with Down-Throw.

- His overall mobility is moderately faster. And also doesn't have grab release silliness on him again.

I'm also loving Yoshi as well... He's SO much better now that he has shield options and good KO options too.

Loving the game (though I still miss my dear Wolf and Lucas .__.), but the 3DS version isn't what I'd play competitively (I'd break a 3DS lol), especially since grabbing is pretty awkward (especially the pivot grabs). Wii U version will be where I shine! :3

Yeah, the controls are awkard at best. Im still getting used to it.

I think the fault is because one cant use the D pad...

Anyway, yeah, wii U is where the things will get interesting.
