Last view: 2867 days ago 		SMG1 for me. While I admit and think that Galaxy 2 is the BEST game, SMG1 is by far my favourite, since all the galaxies were more explored there and it had more of the unique Space-feel to it (if you get what I mean) :3

I still think that SMG2 is the best Mario game in the main 2D/3D series, but I also love SMG1 and SMS. Excluding LM1+2, SMG1 and SMS are my favorite Mario games after SMG2.

Well firstly because SMG is obviously winning outright and secondly it was extremely different. It was a refreshing twist on the normal Mario formula and was still just as difficult as the good old days. The voice acting was surprisingly good and the missions were as wide and varied as one can expect from an island-themed water platformer.

Another thing that stands out about it is that I can't really pick a favourite level. All of them were designed so well and with a suitably incramenting difficulty curve they all felt like they fit where they were supposed to be (except Corona Mountain. That is undoubtedly the worst level because it was so poorly designed. It wasn't even that difficult if you knew what you were doing.)

Unnecessary blocks of review-like text for the win.

EDIT: Also that was post 100 woop-de-doo
