Noes. Then this will be an exact duplicate of Foggy Bog, just without fog >_<

What are you saying "no" to? The fallen trees or the bumps and smaller mushrooms?

Anyway, I'll try to come up with a drawing of what happens at the end of Planet 1 (where the launch star fills in for now).

Quite honestly, I'm questioning why there even needs to be a poisonous swamp at all in this level. I kind of envisioned it as being mushrooms over an abyss, a la Pianta Village.

That's what it was suppose to be.

Where did the idea of the poisonous swamp come from?

The entire galaxy is on a sea of poison swamp that goes as far as the eye can see. Now, there will still be "planets", but they aren't floating in space.

Actually, HP9 incorporated a poison swamp into his design from the start.

I agree, Humongous Fungus Galaxy will be better with a chasm like Pianta Villahe rather than poison water. The Leaf Raft's not working anyway so an abyss would replace poison water as the hazard.

Burn the idea, this was supposed to be a bunch of fog, and a leaf raft would've been silly in a galaxy like this.

Spring Mario can bounce on poison swamp, but if you get too close back to the 1st planet, he'll fall through it.

Okay, it's officially an abyss.

Eh. No issues with leaf rafts, but now the stems'll look like matchsticks if they stick out of the abyss :P
It'd be nice if they clung to the walls, or some were growing out of others' stems. But what about the model already finished...?

Oh yeah that'd be cool if some grew from cliff sides. Btw if it's an abyss there'll be thick fog at the bottom to hide the bottom of the model, so don't worry about how the stems look far down.

Btw mibts you don't have to quote everyone you're replying to .__. it just makes your post take up a lot of space

What is the "thick fog" called?

Anyway, about the bottomless pit...
https://kuribo64.net/get.php?id=FlIDhA8uZG4jTa6U
It's raw; all I did was take away the poison and stretch the mushroom stems (the latter took a long time). The log and rock pillar will be replaced.

Also, at my attempt with translucency:

Epic fail. :P

EDIT: Whoops, apparently, the new texture has to be outside the .bdl
There's a new error.

If I recall correctly, pytex1.py was written when I used Python 2.x, so try that.

I had a lot of fun just screwing around on the mushrooms, and frankly, my whole interest in SMG hacking just surged back. I'll be happy to help with this in any way I can.

You can start thinking about what to put on the Humongous Fungus model. The art isn't detailed so you can be creative.

It didn't work; the files became identical. (I thought patching up the translucent texture did some other magic than just replacing the already-there texture.)

Also, can I go back to the rainbow mushroom theme at least on Planet 3, due to the absence of the dark swamp?

Well, I still think the colors were too bright on that one, but as long as you shade them correctly, feel free to make them a bit brighter now.

I decided to take a break from Humongous Fungus and model something more interesting like Size Switchup that isn't just a whole bunch of mushrooms.

Why the fuck would you model Size Switchup. The design, no offence NSK, is horrible and not even approved. No reason to waste time modelling it.

I was also thinking about Ground Growth, but it's just a bunch of spheres. Other galaxies are either taken, repetitive, not finished with design, sloppy art, or have some type of mechanic which I don't know how to do (Stormshine Planet 3, for example)

Hold off on Ground Growth as well. Last I heard, we were considering completely scrapping that galaxy and replacing it with something else.

Dammit Agent, we're not scrapping anything, even Newp says so. Everything is fine as it is >_<

BACK TO TOPIC. I feel like mibts is doing what you're not supposed to do any simply follow the design instead of being creative and innovative. HEY LET'S SPAM MUSHROOMS BECAUSE IT'S FUN INSTEAD OF TWEAKING THE DESIGN THROUGH THE MODEL AND ADDING SOMETHING NEW. Also the textures are terrible, they're solid colors, and it's not wise to create a level and model because then it just becomes derpy. You should finish modeling, texture it WELL, and then tweak and reimport as needed while creating. Mibts is learning though, which is good, but this galaxy needs a lot more if it's going to be approved, and I mean a LOT MORE. For example: instead of using shit octagons for the spots on the mushrooms, use photoshop to add a circle, blend it a little, and then make it all one texture,, and then apply it so it looks tons better, I can easily help with all that if you're willing to improve it instead of scrapping it.

EDIT: It also could use some extra mushrooms as a different objects that are different shapes to add atmosphere. You don't go on them but they're there.
