Part 2 of 8 of my design frenzy (sorry for no design yesterday, having to do a 250 mile drive in blizzard conditions isn't fun). Well I made the art in around 40 minutes but I've been thinking of the design for a while now, and here it is.

Well Mario starts on the large planet and then he uses a leaf raft from Starshine Beach to traverse through the level. Along his journey he'll find obstacles such as bubble shooters that want to knock him into the poison, as well as large spike balls that have the same goal in mind. On his journey Mario may find a pipe with a cover on it that needs a key to unlock, then he must go find the key in the swamp and use it to get to the pipe.

Once Mario finds the key and goes through the pipe he finds himself in a sewer system. He must find his way across pipes extending from either the wall or the poison floor. Some of these pipes have a piranha plant that occasionally comes out. One of these pipes from earlier moves Mario up where he'll find some platforms that break and fall. On the high part he encounters a bubble shooter that will move him back down in the level. At this point Mario can either proceed in the level or take a risk and go for the comet medal, this involves platforming across a pipe that moves into the poison and a breaking platform and using a bubble shooter to get back. Once past that Mario will find himself at a snake block platform. Mario uses the snake block to proceed. Along his way there will be pipes that extend across the way and Mario will either have to jump over then or duck under them. Another potential hazard can be the snake blocks temporarily going beneath the poison and making Mario wait then jump. At the end of the snake block section Mario will have to make a wall jump (There will still be a floor beneath the wall jump that will stay there to save Mario from one mistake). After the wall jump Mario can go and get the Star and complete the level.

Well I hope you all like this level as well. Feedback is always appreciated and be on the lookout for more designs in the near future. Also I'm working on Gravgen Generator currently so expect that tomorrow as well as potentially another design.

The spike balls are Squizzard's. We may be able to apply an imported model from NSMBW to a Chomp and get rid of the "ruff-ruff" bark.

EDIT: What about giant boulder-like balls made of poison sludge? There should only be a few so that the difficulty is not too high.

So I really do like how you used the poisonous planet and the leaf rafts, and something I brought up in the other thread was the idea of bouncy snakeblocks for the second planet.

I do think it has a reasonable length, but it might be kinda hard finding many enemies to use, though I think that's kinda the point as the leaf raft and the poison are a challenge in and of themselves.

Hopefully the models can be finished up soon after school is over and we're all on summer break. I might like to create this one eventually. We'll see.
