Boo.

That's the one thing I can't forgive about SM64DS- making the special abilities character-specific.

What can I say? I main Mario in everything, which makes having to switch out characters to do one little thing a huge pain.

But what makes poor Yoshi stand out now?

It most likely saves time. So now he won't have to do as much ASM.

But i don't think thats a good idea. So if you want to go high you select luigi than select mario to hover than select luigi to..... it will be hard!

But you (more or less) had to do that in the original game.

There would be those nozzle boxes lying around the area for you to replace your 2nd nozzle (because squirt was permanent, and we don't need that here).

You could throw in the unused cap boxes to emulate this concept, maybe.

I did it because it's much simpler; the levels and missions of SMS are all designed around F.L.U.D.D. and so it'd require more work to think of challenges and genuine needs for any new power-ups. I wouldn't want the situation where perhaps only 1 or 2 stars per level required a new power-up but the game still being beatable without them.

you should try using a water texture that blends in with the background and make the pianta's nose visible by adding some dark spots on it. the piantas voice sounds kinda weird...
I must say I'm impressed.

Importing them into the game would take some more work, but that's how they would sound.

And if you find these so called better instruments and manage to fit them into the 100KB SWAR, I'll be very happy to use them.

EDIT: Here, I quickly fudged it together into the game.
