from experience, Acmlmboard software has been known to explode in unexpected and hilarious ways

this is obviously the reason why the avatars sometimes flipand not because some CSS to flip the user avatars is randomly inserted. nope
You may or may not be able to recognize where I stole this grid background from.

on a related note, the admin panel sucks a bit less now, but most of you won't get to experience it

in particular:
* localmod display is now based on actual permissions instead of being separate. one less thing to take care of.
* accordingly, localmod shit taken out of the forum editor.
* brand spanking new interface for creating/editing groups.

in general: assigning localmods is less of a pain in the ass.

the little shitbag known as remix10tailed recently prompted me to address a little issue related to PMs

namely, even if you had your PM sending permission taken away, you could still alter your conversations' user lists, because that wasn't tied to any permission

which could be abused by adding random users in there

you can no longer do that.

little update to post links in threads: those now change your URL and scroll you to the post, without reloading the page, provided your browser supports it

we're modernizing things, but also doing it right: the links still function as normal links if you open them in a new tab, etc...

post links on users' post listings and on the announcements page will still take you to the thread.


also, there was a little security hole, but it's been fixed.

right now it works, but that one time I mashed the quote link expecting to be redirected to reply page like it was a while ago (I forget) and spent a minute figuring out I was spamming the quick reply box with quotes.
