new feature: the [user] tag can now be used with usernames


it won't work for users whose name is a number or contains a ], though


[user=Dirbaio] -> Dirbaio

(the tag is converted to the [user=ID] form before being stored, to reduce server load in the case the user changes names after the post is posted)

auto-URL filter updated to suck less (for example, it doesn't try to convert URLs in code tags. it should also work in post headers, signatures, bios)

Doubleposting has been restricted, now you need to wait one hour between consecutive posts. You should still be able to doublepost if you ever need it, but that'll stop idiots from spamming 50 posts in a row because they missed the Edit button.


If you run into the restriction while logged in, you can choose to merge your post with the previous post. This will count as a normal post edit. The post's avatar and options will stay unchanged.


Oh and the one-hour restriction considers the thread's last post date. So if you delete your post, you will have to wait one hour (or wait for somebody else to post) before you can post again.

Quoting a post that has HTML disabled will now escape < into &lt;. So if the post contains <shit>, it doesn't accidentally become HTML.

Minor update to editprofile.php. Should keep derps from entering dumb plain text in their post header.

Relatedly, there were 9 users with plaintext headers that went unnoticed, those have been nuked.

(the headers, not the users)

Auto-URL filter rewritten. Gets rid of some nasty kludges and should finally work right.

This update also counts an attempt at fixing smilies.

Let me know if anything shits itself.


Improper auto-URL may result in nested <a> tags, which are invisible and insidious.


More updates to post parsing and all:

* Custom titles are limited to a small bbcode subset rather than supporting the whole set. You can still use some formatting and smilies.

* The location field works the same. It also shows up that way in your profile.

* Other profile fields have been changed to just use htmlspecialchars(). Except the bio field, of course.
