The L is real is actually debatable. Its just a generic texture, not saying that L(uigi) is real. Ive heard that texture also appears on OoT.

Also the Book in SMS is a leftover form early version, but counts as an easter egg. (lazy nintendo for not cleaning the levels up before release xP)

Kug, the 2D Goomba from beneath Pinna Park in SMS, had a 3D model in Pikmin's files (along with a giant Mario Model).

Also, Shadow Mario in the level intro video of Bianco Hills' first episode is not Shadow Mario; it is a Boo that disguises itself like in Hotel Delfino.

- E. Gadds Lab looks alot like/is his lab from M&L Partners in Time.
- Luigi's "House" in this game is the Rank D Mansion from the first one.
- The Map Luigi used at the beginning of LM1 hangs on the wall at Luigi's House
- Luigi's House also has a Trophy with a plunger and wrench on it over the fireplace, which references his and Mario's jobs as "Plumbers".
- The scene where Luigi checks his TV is a reference to Poltergeist

This is probably speculation, but oh well.

Old Clockworks has an ancient Egyptian theme, right? In SMG2, there is an Aztec galaxy called Clockwork Ruins. It shares the same music and day/night backgrounds with Slipsand, an ancient Egyptian galaxy!

In the elevator in Gloomy Manor that leads you to the spider boss, the elevator's music is the title screen theme from a Mario sports game I can't remember the name of.

The first mission in Haunted Towers is called "A Job for a Plumber.

The Dark Light is pretty much an ultraviolet device. In fact, ultraviolet lights are called black lights, although they are purple instead of rainbow, and black lights don't necessarily overheat.

Speaking of which, the Dark Light overheating is like the Poltergust overheating in LM1's beta versions. However, the Dark Light does not damage Luigi when it overheats.
