Note: Millennial oriented classic hits refers to classic hits stations that play 2000's music in addition to 80's and 90's, while significantly cutting back on 1960's to 1970's tracks to artists that almost everyone will probably know (such as The Beatles and The Rolling Stones). This term was just coined by me just now.

Who here knows of any great places to do an online radio station for free? I have plans to create a classic hits station, but tweak the format a bit. There will be little in the way of 60's and 70's music in it with the only artists from those decades represented being artists such as The Beatles and The Rolling Stones, otherwise this will focus on 80's 90's and 2000's music. Yes, you read that right, 2000's music, something never done before on classic hits stations. The music will range from 1980-2009 with a few 1960's and 1970's tracks (The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, etc) thrown in here and there, mainly because almost everyone has heard of them. There may also be the occasional 2010's track thrown in, but it will mainly be songs with an authentic retro feel. Examples of this include; Kenny Chesney and Pink, World on Fire, 2016, (sounds like 1980's music), Bruno Mars, 24k Magic, 2017 (sounds like 70's disco), Capital Cities, Safe and Sound, and Stayin Alive, 2013 (sounds like 80's music), etc. I'd prefer it to be a place where the song's are already uploaded for you, and you just pick which ones you want in a playlist, and then hit play. I probably will not do anything live, except maybe an evening all request show where anything from the 1980's to the 2000's is fair game. This would run from 7 PM to 12 AM. I would probably not run it, but rather have someone else run it if they are willing to do so. If no one wants to run it, I'll scrap the idea and just automate it. The tracks will be stuff everyone knows, plus a few tracks by artists you might not know about (such as Sparks, etc). Any help would be greatly appreciated. I would love for this to get off the ground, and so you can tell your friends that you just heard The All American Rejects on the oldies station.

This is a bio? Is this where I input Biology or Biography? And I'm pretty sure graphy is a suffix due to its usage in geography, photography, biography, and tomography.

Would a free server work for this? Cause I have one in mind that might work for this. And thanks!

In Germany at least you would receive a nice lawsuit for streaming/hosting copyrighted music.

Can't you just create a Spotify playlist or something similar? In the end paying for a streaming service is as expensive as renting a VPS.

spotify is tbh annoying, on the free version at least it adds songs without consent to your playlists and THERE'S NO WAY TO TURN IT OFF

Well what do you expect? They let you listen to copyrighted music for free. There has to be a downside to that.

you can mod the player tho to play anything you want and get premium minus offline usage
