Post your ideas and designs for Ground Growth Galaxy here. This galaxy goes on the concept found in Supermassive where all the flowers grow as you walk around. This makes a whole galaxy out of it, so we should start with a barren wasteland that becomes more and more beautiful as mario explores and goes over the barren ground. Some possible ideas are pirana plants sprouting up as mario explores the galaxy and vines to reach new areas and floaty fluffs to go to new planets.

We could also make Mario spin or ground-pound to make flowers appear.

Can we make killing an enemy spawn the flowers?

I think we should include some classic Gusty Garden elements with new twists.

Idea: having undergrunts shoot cannonballs at you as you float with the fluff?

Here's a cool boss concept by Glem3:
[16:32] <@Glem3> And that boss is… the silver chomp!
[16:33] <@Glem3> The silver chomp has only ONE weakness
[16:33] <@Glem3> Only ONE thing that can kill it:
[16:33] <@Glem3> A plant
[16:33] <@Glem3> So, where does it make the most sense to fight it? Ground growth!
[16:33] <@Glem3> You have to cover the planet with flowers
[16:33] <@Glem3> And once it's completely covered, those green things will pop up, allowing you to take him out!
I like that idea :P

A silver chomp would be kinda unfitting here. Plus, it's already going to be used for Fearsome Factory.

Being a barren, earthy galaxy, should we implement drill Mario?

Maybe ground-pounding a switch in the interior of the planet to make the flowers on the other side appear?

Well, after you guys gave me some great ideas, I decided to completely redo the Galaxy!

Ground Growth Galaxy:

This Galaxy mainly revolves around the growing flowers concept; witch only appeared in the “In Full Bloom” level featured in Supermassive Galaxy. In the first level, Mario must convert a Dead, Depressing Galaxy into a lush oasis, just by running across the dirty, barren planets found there. The second level focuses even more on growing the flowers, but this time in more ways than one. (On the first planet, he must make the flowers bloom by pressing a switch, instead of just walking) sometimes, the amount of time the flowers have above ground is limited, and Mario must quickly press a sequence of switches before the time runs out to advance.

Star 1: Terra-forming 101

In this stage, Mario begins on a small, dry, dusty planet, an enlarged version of the tiny brown planet with the four coins featured in the first star of Sky Station Galaxy. With three dead trees jutting out if the planet’s surface. But, to Mario’s amazement, he discovers that he can bring life to the sad little ball of dirt just by walking across it! Flowers bloom in his wake, and the planet becomes covered in beautiful reds, greens, yellows, and blues. However the planet is also home to three piranha plants that, even though they enjoy the flowers Mario has created, still hate Mario, and try to nip at him and he rushes past. But once Mario has dispatched these annoying plants with a quick spin, and covered the sad little planet with flowers, a launch star appears, plotting the path to the next segment, a 1.5x enlarged flat dirt planet from Boulder Bowl Galaxy.

Reanimating the landscape is not the goal of this segment. The main objective here is to use the rock mushroom located in the center of the earth disk to break open the ten stone pillars scatter around the planets surface. Five of them contain necessary yellow star chips, were as the other five contain nothing. However, Mario is not alone on this planet either. Six Giant piranha plants live deep beneath the soil, popping up every once and awhile, trying to crush Mario between their enormous jaws. Also, the fences on the rim of the planet have been removed, making it easier for Mario to miss a pillar, and roll off of the edge to his death. Regular piranha plants replace the Octoguys and Octoombas that previously abided here.

Once Mario has collected all five star chips, a launch star appears in the center of the planet, allowing Mario to advance to the next planet in the level, an enlarged version of the barren, rocky planet from Battle Belt Galaxy with the red urchins. Stone pillars are also found here (three of them to be exact), though, with no Rock Mushroom available, they are impossible to break. Enemies found on this planet include: five Basic Piranha Plants, one Purple Piranha Plant, and three of those green spiny things that lash out at you from HoneybloomGalaxy. Mario must cover this planet in flowers as well, avoiding the enemies as he does this. A cloud flower appears after the Mario has accomplished this task, allowing him to reach the high-flying flower platforms that try to eat him if he stays on one of them too long. Three cloud-assisted back flips later, and Mario has his feet firmly planted on the first flower. Paragoombas float lazily in-between the platforms, and must be avoided.
At the center of the network of hungry flowers, lies a switch resting on top of a floating Supermassive brick block; witch activates the launch star when stomped on. Two Piranha Plants guard the switch, trying to prevent Mario from activating the gimmick.

Once the launch star has been activated, Mario must drop down to the planet’s now blooming surface, and hop in, blasting towards the fifth and final segment, a 2x enlarged version of the planet with the mud and Chomps from Boulder Bowl Galaxy.

Here, the objective is once again to cover the planet in flowers. Flowers cannot bloom in the sections covered in mud, and Mario must walk slowly through the goop to get to the vulnerable soil.
(The purple crystal containing the sling star found on this planet previously has been removed)

Enemies Found on this planet include: ten Regular Piranha Plants, three Purple piranha plants, seven Goombas, four sliver chomps, and a few more of those green spiny things.

Mario touches down on an enlarged elevated patch of steel,
Were a Blue Gearmo is waiting for him. “Those terrors just escaped from Chompworks!” he says, gesturing toward the silver chomps, “Watch out!” Mario must then hop off of the silver plate, and star running across the planet, roses and tulips popping up out of the dead soil behind him. However, the Gearmo wasn’t lying when he mentioned the silver chomps, as they begin chasing Mario around the planet as soon as he comes near, trying to prevent him from exiting the galaxy alive. While these silver beasts are in hot pursuit, Mario must also avoid the other enemies found on the planet. But, after the planet is covered in flowers, the galaxy’s first power star is yours! The prize bursts out of the earth, allowing Mario to run over and grab it.

Background Used: Sunrise from the first star in Slimy Spring Galaxy

Music Used: I know this sounds weird, but I’ve done some thinking, and in my opinion, this music would fit perfectly for both levels in this galaxy. (If its possible to use music from other games that is. If it’s not, then Sky station galaxy theme 2 is fine.)

Enemies Used:
1. Piranha Plant
2. Silver Chomp
3. Purple Piranha Plant
4. Spiny Piranha Plant
5. Those spiny things that lunge out at you from Honey Bloom Galaxy
6. Gigantic Piranha Plant
7. Goomba
8. Paragoomba
9. Octoomba
10. Fliptack

Planets used:

1. Rocky Bowl-shaped Planet (1.5x enlarged) (Boulder Bowl)
2. Small Dirt Planet (4x enlarged) (Sky Station)
3. The Large Dirt Planet with the chomps (1.5x enlarged) (Boulder Bowl)
4. Barren, Rocky Planet with the red urchins (1.5x enlarged) (Battle Belt)

Objects Used:

1. Supermassive brick block
2. Ground-Pound Switch
3. Growing Flowers
4. Dead Trees
5. Carnivorous Flower Platforms
6. Coins
7. Star Bits
8. Rock Mushrooms
9. Cloud Flowers
10. Launch Stars
11. Rock Pillars
12. Cloud Platforms

Galaxy Icon: A dirt planet, with a basic piranha plant on top

Green Star 1 can be found in this stage. To get it, simply long Jump off of the last Flower, and into the Cloud mushroom floating in space. Immediately create a platform, preventing Mario from falling, then, two cloud-assisted long jumps later, Mario had his hands on the Galaxy’s first Green Star.

Star 2: Blooming on Demand

Mario begins this stage the same way as before, on the enlarged dirt planet from Sky Station. However, this time, Mario discovers flowers no longer bloom when he walks across the ball of dirt’s surface, and he must stomp on a red Ground-Pound Switch found on the opposite side of the planet from where he enters the level. Upon pressing this switch, the half of the planet the switch isn’t on bursts into bloom. But, a “Tick-Tock” Playing shortly after the button is pressed tells Mario that this effect doesn’t last forever, and to advance to the next segment, he must quickly run to the now vibrant side of the planet, and stomp on another red switch that has appeared amongst the flowers. After both switches have been pressed in rapid succession, a pipe pops out of the ground, leading Mario to a much-enlarged version of the planet with the three cages from the second star of Yoshi Star Galaxy.

Mario comes out on the small dirt circle with the yellow pole, with a blue time freeze switch in front if him. There are a few other red ground pound switches, but it is extremely difficult to make the flowers bloom, because, after a red switch is pressed, the flowers only stay above ground for about five seconds. However, to make this a bit easier, the time freeze button is provided. There are five ground pound switches on the planet, each one covering one fifth of the grassy expanse with flowers. Every time a button is pressed, the five-second timer resets, so, technically it is possible to do it without using the blue buttons scattered around the planets surface, but using the Time-Freeze switches is much easier. Lots of piranha plants can be found here; as well as a few whittles who give Mario encouraging advice as he runs by. The tree cages have been replaced with floating bullet bill launchers, that make Mario’s speedy gardening even more difficult. After Mario has covered the planet in flowers, a cloud flower appears, enabling Mario to reach and interact with the high-flying cloud platforms that lead to the launch star. With the help of three cloud-assisted back flips, Mario has his feat planted on the first cloud platform. Fliptacks patrol the skies, attempting to smash any clouds Mario tries to create.
Paragoombas flit back and forth in the gaps between the platforms some of witch are one long jump’s distance wide. Soon, Mario has left the planet below him altogether, and the last few clouds in front of him hang over the abyss. On the last cloud rests the launch star, witch blasts him toward the next segment.

This next part is a 1.5x-enlarged version of the main planet from Yoshi Star galaxy. Here, the objective is to once again cover the planet in flowers. Mario begins in the same place he does in Yoshi Star, but again finds that the only possible way to make the planet bloom is by using one of the five red switches scattered around the first section of the planet. Like last time, the flowers created by the switches only stay above ground for a limited time, so to make things easier, there are three blue
Time-Freeze switches found here. Enemies found in this segment include, twelve regular Piranha Plants, three purple piranha plants, one spiny piranha plant, and two gigantic piranha plants over by the volcano. The trees featured in the part with the sunrise in Slimy Spring Galaxy are strewn around the grassy fields, increasing the area’s verdant feel. But, after Mario has successfully covered the first section of the planet in flowers, Mario can advance to the next. (Well, he doesn’t necessarily have to complete either segment before the other, just so long as both of them are completed)

The next section takes place on the grassy path leading to the volcano. Here, Mario can make flowers bloom behind him by walking as usual, however, Ledge hammers lining the walkway attempt squash Mario flat, and he must run under the large mallets before they slam into the earth. Once Mario has made the flowers bloom, they stay above ground indefinitely, so take your time.

Enemies are scarce here, but there still are a few regular piranha plants and some green spiny things from Honeybloom galaxy.

After both section of the planet are covered in flowers, a launch star appears, paving the way to the final segment. As soon as Mario touches down, the music changes to the Speed Run theme from SMG.
The planet he lands on is a 2x-enlarged version of the ledge hammer trap from Clockwork Ruins Galaxy, although invisible walls dividing the planet have been deleted. The goal here is to once again cover the grassy areas of the planet in flowers; so, Mario must run along the rotating grass disks, leaving a trail of roses, tulips, and other flora in his wake, while watching out for the increased amount of ledge hammers, a few piranha plants, and some Honey Hop spiny things. There are no Time-freeze buttons to aid him on this version of the planet, so Mario must run under the hammers quickly.

After he has successfully covered this plant in flowers, a cloud flower pops into existence on one of the lower unmoving segments, allowing Mario to walk across the floating cloud platforms on the sloped side of the planet. Here, Mario must collect five blue star chips by hopping from cloud to cloud, avoiding Fliptacks and Paragoombas, and collecting the occasional cloud flower for a refill. The Fliptacks aren’t much to worry about, for as soon as they smash through a cloud, they can’t stop, and fall into the abyss. Paragoombas on the other hand, can be a nuisance. Carnivorous flower platforms can be found here as well, but only a few.

The chain of pull stars that appears after all five chips are collected leads to the top of the tree, were the star waits. However, while getting pulled towards the prize, Mario must doge mines, more Paragoombas, and even a few sentry beams. But, after you brave this short but difficult obstacle course, the galaxy’s second power star is yours!

Music Used:
Same as Star 1

Enemies Used:
1. Piranha Plant
2. Fliptack
3. Purple Piranha Plant
4. Spiny Piranha Plant
5. Those spiny things that lunge out at you from Honey Bloom Galaxy
6. Gigantic Piranha Plant
7. Goomba
8. Paragoomba
9. Octoomba

Planets used:

1. Ledge Hammer Trap (2x enlarged) (Clockwork Ruins)
2. Small Dirt Planet (4x enlarged) (Sky Station)
3. Main Planet From Yoshi Star (1.5x enlarged) (Yoshi Star)
4. Flat Grass Plant with the Cages (2x enlarged) (Yoshi Star)

Objects Used:

1. Time-Freeze Switches
2. Ground-Pound Switches
3. Growing Flowers
4. Ledge Hammers
5. Carnivorous Flower Platforms
6. Coins
7. Star Bits
8. Slimy Spring Trees
9. Cloud Flowers
10. Launch Stars
11. Rock Pillars
12. Cloud Platforms

Both Green Stars two and three and be found on the Ledge Hammer Trap.

Green Star two:
To snag this cosmic Jewel, Mario must use three cloud assisted long jumps to get as far way as he can from the sloped side of the Ledge Hammer Trap, then, grab the cloud flower that rests in mid air, and long jump out into space three more times, and then long jump off of your last cloud platform and into the first Green Star.

Green Star three:
To grab the galaxies third and final green star, Mario must over grab onto the last pull star in the chain, and then let go just as he reaches it, slinging himself into the third green star.

Comet Star: Terra-forming speed run.
This level is a speed run version of the first star. Mario begins with only thirty seconds on the clock, and must collect stopwatches to extend his time.

The design may already be complete. However, I would like to add a few ideas, if possible.

We should have crestive uses of flower growing here. Mario coulk walk on walls to make flowers grow there. Grass and small bushes should also grow. There should be a section that has "drawing" with flowers, grass, and bushes. It is like special markers that reveal hidden designs in special coloring pages. Reiterating on switch uses, there should be section, where an entire field is barren. Then at the hit of a switch, flowers grow all over the field. (Yes, I know it us already in the design. It is simply a reiteration or re-telling :P.)

Also, possible ground shifting and rearranging maybe?

Ground shifting? You mean like the planet at the end of Puzzle Plank where groundpounding would move around the parts of it?
