What's the best antivirus for Windows out there? I already have AVG, but I've been thinking about getting a second antivirus, just to be safe. |

If it's Windows 10, Just get Malwarebytes and run it every so often. The built-in Defender is Exactly the same as the other programs. ____________________ SMG RUN Progress: Not available here, for more information, check my Youtube Channel |

Windows Defender is already more than enough, you don't need a crapo antivirus slowing down your computer. |

Posted by MarioBurger71 Oh, god no. I used to think Norton was okay but then the subscription was over and "oh look, it's spamming me every five minutes to get it back, ultimately bringing my computer to a halt! Oh, and it's also blocking a Microsoft-trusted application downloaded directly from the website? At the highest threat level too? How thoughtful!" Norton isn't one you want. Posted by TheSunCat I can't speak too much for Malwarebytes, but from what I have seen, it's an instant "no", at least for me. As for Avast, it's just really shady. It does a lot of scary stuff in the background. I wouldn't trust it. Posted by RicBent Posted by StapleButter I suggest sticking with Windows Defender and the latest update of Windows 10. It doesn't slow down your computer much, (if not that, it doesn't slow it down at all) and it's free. Sure, it won't detect a handful of viruses but that's because it's either VERY obvious that you are going to download it or you just need to have common sense. Alright, sorry for ranting. This is just one of those things I guess. ____________________ yeah |

My computer has mcafee. It almost never bothers me for stuff. Heck opera's built-in antivirus bothers more often than mcafee. Dunno if it's considered good tho. I don't really care for antivirus stuff. ____________________ Nothing to say, so jadnjkfmnjamnfjkldnajfnjkanfjdksan jsdnvj m. |

Reminds me that it should be illegal for educational institutions to use paid software or promote them in any way as for example by offering deals for them. What do pubils and students do when they learned to use Windows and MS Office in school? Exactly. Buy it. Why not teach how to use Linux and other open source software? Both sides would profit by not having to spend money on paid crap. ____________________ GitHub - YouTube - NSMBHD |

I disagree. It's like saying "this school uses pencils from this company so that means they're advertising them!!!". ____________________ Nothing to say, so jadnjkfmnjamnfjkldnajfnjkanfjdksan jsdnvj m. |

Posted by poudink That comparison does not make much sense tho. No school would ever try to force students to use one brand of pencils. They let you the choice to decide whatever tool you want to use. That's entirely different regarding computer software. You don't have Microsoft Office at home? You are fucked when you have to do a presentation for something at home. That way everybody is forced to used one kind of tool. They don't leave you a choice. And if you know how to use one kind of tool it's unlikely you'll ever switch to smth different. And there is no reason to choose a paid software over a free one if both can do the same. MS Office <-> LibreOffice Windows <-> Linux ____________________ GitHub - YouTube - NSMBHD |
