Personally I am imagining this galaxy to have the feel and mood of the final part of SM3DL's last level (not the Crown level, but like the final level of the main game where the final boss is).
Specifically between 2:20 and 3:20 in this vid: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z67m0cj30pI I mean it also fits your guys's wanted moods too, as it's rainy, clody and somewhat dark too. And a flat top would look weird. To be honest, I don't see any way to make him anywhere near dangerous. Also, he isn't very menacing. A flat tower top is required for the Boomsday Machine. I doubt the thing would work well on a parabolic surface. I meant that, the arena where the Boomsday Machine was fought was a circular arena.

Actually, looking at the battle again, the arena was much smaller then I remember. In fact, that's pretty much the exact width that the towers SHOULD BE.
The idea is that you'll be fighting enemies on the top of each tower, hence the themes. Like a spooky tower with magikoopas and such. The problem is grouping each enemy into a category and then using them. ____________________ "I hate playing musical chats" ~ Quote of the month |

An exception would be the part in Galaxy Generator that had lava, Thwomps, Bullet Bills, and Banzai Bills in a cylinder. That cylinder was in fact a tower.
