On a differnt note, ModelShapeNo. do we know how to use this for our own models?

EX: say I have 2 different flowers. I wan't BOTH models to go to the object. Which one chosen signified by ModelShapeNo.

Only some of the plant objects can use ShapeModelNo. However, if we take a look at some unused zones in SMG1, we can see that the developers had many different models for various testing objects. It could be possible that different models can be used for basic objects.

For example, your object and models could be organized like this:
ComponentPlanet00.arc -> ShapeModelNo = 0 -> mouse
ComponentPlanet01.arc -> ShapeModelNo = 1 -> keyboard

I think I have implemented some shitty ShapeModelNo rendering in the latest Whitehole release.

"ComponentPlanet00.arc -> ShapeModelNo = 0 -> mouse" is its own model. What I don't understand is how we set this: ShapeModelNo = 0. Inside a file in the arc? or what?

ALSO! The Not-So-Simple Demo Executor STRIKES AGAIN! When it is active, the camera just moves to 0,0,0 (x,y,z) and stays until the demo is over.
EDIT: Are you sure those Japanese characters are correct? AncientExcavationGalaxy has a Not-So-Simple Demo Executor and the camera used is not listed.

Just a small update on the hacks progress:

W1 Galaxys: 23%
-----Spiral Field:
---------Still needs a mini-model but otherwise 100%
-----Crossovers:
--------Needs The bonus area simple-demo fixed
--------More enemies and goodies
--------Fix the Snap-into-place blocks
--------Needs its own banner
--------needs a mini-model but otherwise 64%
-----Bom-omb's Space war
--------Better name
--------Other than that, I haven't started yet. 1%

I Will NOT record a video of crossovers. (unless of course, you want me to make one ;))

New error. Whenever I make text for a NPC, after 18-ish characters, it just says ???????????

MSBT says : hi mario, we need to speak
In-game says: hi mario, we nee?????????????

Is there a way to fix this?


You can't live update text editing.

Anyway, a MSBF editor would come in handy right now...

"Bomb-omb's Space War Galaxy" Is now called "Space War Galaxy"

Quick update:

I will be releasing a demo of W1 sometime soon. It will feature:

-Spiral Field Galaxy
-Crossovers Galaxy
-Space War Galaxy
-Switchsville Galaxy
-Rushing falls Galaxy
-Flip-Swap Galaxy
-Bowser Jr's Rainbow Roller Galaxy

The Galaxy's Above will be in the demo of SMG RUN.
It will most likely be available before the end of April, but it might not be. So don't get mad if it isn't.

I also just wanted to mention my workflow. This is mainly to answer any questions like...

Gamma is not a testing phase. It goes straight from alpha to beta

While this is true, that doesn't mean I am breaking all laws of computers. It goes like this:
-ALPHA STAGE: The galaxy is around 1-30% And occasionally, a video is made.
-BETA STAGE: The galaxy is around 31-70% NO INFO IS RELEASED
-GAMMA STAGE: The Galaxy is around 71-99% Occasionally, a video is made.
-FINISHED: the galaxy is 100% and complete. this doesn't mean it won't have small changes made though.

So I hope this clears any confusion that you may have.

About the ShapeModelNo problem: Why does it crash? Does it print a crash log? If not, it can't find the model file. I can take a look at the model files if you want.

I saw the levels in your video.. Honestly looks very empty and remember to shade your models a bit so they dont look bland and boring :-)

Don't worry. Detail is increasing as I get the feel for it. (I don't mean the program, I mean where everything looks nice where I place it)
I also have to figure out what objects are the decorations. XD
I did shade them. :P (I also forgot to add trees and other plants... Crud. Need to fix that.)

There is no crash log.

Its an infinite loop. It doesn't print crash logs. Also, you viewing the models provides a spoiler to SMG RUN. So I cannot send it to you in public. I do, however, believe it is not the models causing the loop because they load (and function ;)) just fine when they are their own objects.

New video featuring the Experimental bob-omb suit in Space war galaxy.

The huge bob-omb is suppost to actually explode the glass. The fact that it doesn't is why it is still experimental.

The only problem I have with this level is that the player doesn't seem to be forced to kill all those enemies, making them useless.

You will have to kill all of the Hammer/Boomerang bros. in the end, I didn't have those three in the bob-omb suit part of the video hooked up to the extermination switch. the gimmick of the stage is that you HAVE to explode the cages with the bob-ombs & bob-omb Suit in order to destroy the hammer/boomerang bros, which, in turn, hold the key to the star. The only flaw I see with this is the fact that there are no extra bombs to use, so when they're gone, they're gone! Maybe a checkpoint before this section? (Also, the video doesn't show the whole stage. It only shows the Airship section.)

It's a bit boring though to wait for these things to explode while crouching. At no time there is any threat to the player whatsoever. Spice it up!
