Post your Concepts and Designs for Season Cycle Galaxy here. This galaxy is based off of the Seasons so it will involve multiple styles of design.

NWP and MoreCowbell have made some designs for this galaxy so I'll let them post them.

I've got a question about this one -- which honestly I'm surprised doesn't have more discussion-- will it be done like how Click Clock Wood was in Banjo-Kazooie or will it be the seasons coexisting together?

The Seasons will be changing as you go along from planet to planet. (or sometimes more.)

I was thinking coexisting, but like the planets are split into four parts with each season.

It's more so on the archive, but the basic idea is that it's literally a season CYCLE. You'd start out in one on a big main planet, and after an objective, you'd go to a new planet with the same season theme and do something else. upon finishing something on that second planet, the seasons would "change" via a cutscene and switches. You would do that cycle several times, and then eventually get to a star. They're not so much coexisting as what the name imples

Nwp posted an older design I wrote on the old board
I want it finalized at some point

So MoreCowbell and I are probably going to come back to this idea eventually, and my intention is to try to do a complete overhaul, but something I just thought of is using Balloon Yoshi on that giant tree idea I wanted, a lot like Tall Trunk.

A bit unoriginal, don't you think?

Also, what about Light Yoshi in the autumn section? Leaves could be revealed on the ground and fallen branches could appear as bidges.

That could also be cool, we could also even work something in with Dash Yoshi as well, it's moreso up to MoreCowbell, I'm waiting to see his ideas, and then I would adapt that to what I have in mind.

Dash Yoshi on a huge fountain's pond in the summer? Yeah, Yoshi dashing on water was only used twice in Starshine.

I'm thinking a more calm star 1 with relaxing music, less linearity, and yoshi. Star 2 should be more like gusty garden, but with different seasons. (And great music!)

Also star 1 would have the switching season thing

Hmm... Are you suggesting Star 1 has Winter and Fall, while Star 2 has Spring and Summer?

I would definitely like to see how a snowy Gust Garden would turn out. There could even fallen brown leaves in the snow. And also, pine trees with visible green leaves.

The issue is, a theme like Gusty Garden would not work for a winter environment.

Not exactly Gusty Garden. Just something diffferent for a snow section.

Wait a sec...

I never said anything about splitting up the seasons. Both stars contain all 4. And when I say gusty garden, I mean a more linear level with lots of smaller planets, lots of nature, and a really kickass theme

But the only differences between the two missions are the music and Yoshi. However, both missions coukd have their own unique planets.

Well of course they would have unique planets, and there would be a lot of differences. Like I said, star 1 is less linear, and uses that gimmick with the season switch (where the main planet changes seasons)

Star 2, like I said, has nothing in common with star 1 except that it focuses on a mishmash of seasons, which is still pretty different than star 1 because in star 1 they are mostly separated

So in Star 2, one planet would have snow and flowers and the others have etc. seasons combined?
