IDK how the gravity affects mario's physics but I do know it exists.

Was it ever used in the SMG games?

One idea is a giant machine that sucks gravity from planets and you use giant tubes from it to traverse the galaxy.

That's exactly what I'm imagining for this galaxy, and since I have ideas for art style as well, I'll probably work with cosmo on this.
What I'm imagining is pipes going everywhere from a main core where gravigen is being extracted, and I'm thinking something like this
[image]
But thicker pipes, and black lines running down it to give the pipes some look and feel, like this

I'm thinking a machine feel like these 2 games, but still fitting into what defines Mario, and not too dark, just a dark background, to give off the vibe I want

I was thinking something like that, but they should also look kind of flexible

that would involve materials, which is at least a year off, unless you want to find and hex edit a bunch of stuff.

That is almost exactly the style I was visualizing for this galaxy as well! Especially the blue/grey/futuristic colo(u)r scheme.

Maybe the level could start off with a quick section on one of the planets being extracted from, with low gravity key searching, then a warp pipe into a long section along/inside one of the tubes, with the main part of the screwy gravity, then a brief section on the main processor with more-than-usual gravity, before the boss.
If this kind of thing is possible.

The theme of this galaxy not being based on fire is starting to haunt me.

:/ Too bad. This is Gravigen Extractor, not Lava Extractor

Yes, that's the point

So, what will the enemies be etc. Will there be enemies? Blarg. Doesn't really seem so in a place like this.

Magikoopas are a must, as always.

Enemies? Yeah, there'll probably be a lot less enemies than usual, but not as few as EotU. There could be many of those moving blocks over dark matter (SMG1 Dark Matter reactor, is that possible? Paths possible?) if possible...

When Mario travels in the tube network, could he defeat Goombas and Cheep-Cheeps in the tubes? There could be a stone disk obstructing a tube and you have to ground-pound it to reopen the tube and keep going.

Umm. Goombas and Cheep-Cheeps swimming in dark matter? lol
Anyway, there shouldn't be too many enemies in the pipes.
Probably more mechanical hazards. Like 2 retextured "metal" Ledge Hammer slamming together like a valve/pump of dark matter?

The level should be something like:
-Landing on hollow, low-gravity unstable planet
-Going through the pipe sucking the gravigen out of it (lots of dark matter/gravigen)
-Getting through the processing center (even more screwy gravity tricks)
-Fighting Bowser

The little rocks that release Coins and Starbits should float in midair fow while. Also, magnified physics of Cloud Mario's slow descent could be addes to the regular Mario.

Just a quick question, will the pipes between the unstable-gravity planet and the gravigen processing center be using "magnetic" gravity? (e.g: as in, Mario sticks to the walls, similar to how he does inside of a spherical planet?)

Who said anything about traveling through the pipes in the first place? Gravigen does some WEIRD stuff with whatever it comes in contact with....

Actually the tubes "pipes" will be sucking Mario. It is sort of like a slide except you are being pulled. Walking in walls should be used on the planets.

._. This has nothing to do with going to the center of the galaxy to shut off gravigen. BTT.
Anyways, I'm fairly certain that this is one of cosmo's 8 designs that he is finishing this week.
