What would they attach to? this is an open galaxy. Think way high up with you dodging mountain peaks

Choppahs and Giant Paragoombas would be a great addittion. Flying enemies will prove to be effictive obstacles for Fluzzard and Mario. Fleet Glide only had Swoopers and Banzai Bills. The Giant Paragoombas woukd be flying back and forth while Choppahs would form a barrier and you have to be quick in safely evading the Choppah walls.

If I haven't mentioned my ideas already, here they are:

This galaxy begins very open like NWP said. You take off from very high up and are dodging mountain peaks. Then, you lose altitude and go into the canyon. You are flying through a narrow path with the canyon walls on each side. Below you is a flowing river like in Wild Glide. This would be a great place to implement falling boulders if possible. The third and final section is entered through a tunnel that is inside of a mountain. You (and the river) are led into this tunnel, which opens up into an underground lake. There are crystals everywhere, and on either side of the lake are waterfalls that are coming from separate rivers. Sticking out of the lake are rock pillars, and you must avoid hitting them or touching water. At the other end of the lake is the opening out of the mountain, which leads to the open sky and the goal.

Maybe, if theres laps, the level could change with every lap, like the first lap is a clear path but then the next lap boulders and rocks block some of the passages and you have to fly through them, and the third lap you would need to pass through large cracks in the ground or something.

So, how do you guys like my layout?

Mountain peaks, canyon itself, beautiful underwater lake (this all sounds like a Dora episode xD)

To be honest we don't need laps at all - it will just make the level more repetitive.

I would be nice if Fluzzard could somehow ascend. That way you could go deep in the canyon and fly above the lake and high above the canyon. That would be better than laps. However, the player could have to descend into the canyon from high above. A bit like NWP's intro suggestion.

Can't read the writing, but it looks okay, though the cavern part isn't very detailed.

There's always a light at the end of the tunnel. Of course, it's usually an oncoming express train.

From what I see, the really dark lines form the paths for Mario and Fluzzard. The houses are the village in Maulio's design.

Its supposed to be like a sort of western village that Fluzzard Flies into to get into the canyon. The thing is, Mario starts at the entry of the canyon, and 2 rivers flow into it.
