I believe the slide is not going to be the entire mission, I think. t
I plan on the maze being the size of the secret area accessed with the pipes of Good Egg Galaxy's Starting Planet. You know, not too small. It will also possibly be after the ice slide, as it is supposed to switch to fire near the end. What I do not know is what the rest of the second mission is going to be, but there are a lot concepts on this thread.

Also, after the flame maze what's going to happen? A launch star to a final planet? A power star? Any suggestions here?

Here's what I'm thinking. In star one there is a big volcano planet. The planet is shaped like an oval, with one half having the volcano and the other half being pure lava. There is a giant track floating that is made out of water, and it wraps around the volcano and swoops over the lava. (Similar to the loop de loop tracks)

Mario has to use the ice flower to skate down this track without falling. Every so often there will be another ice flower on the track so that Mario doesn't run out. Since this is W2, if he DOES run out, then the only consequence is having to slowly swim to the next flower. Then at the bottom of the slide is the entrance to the volcano. Mario has to platform his way up inside in order to reach a launch star at the top that shoots him out of the volcano. Here's the catch: Similar to the end of Melty Molten's lava spire, the lava in the volcano is rising. This adds a sense of difficulty to the level

That sounds like a better design for Star#1 and I like it! Star#2 should have a slide portion (not the entire mission) with a flame maze that is tiny when compared to the other areas. There. I suggest that we should stick to that we do not potentially go overboard with the maze and the slide.

In SMG1's Freezeflame he did. Also, fire had no impact on Ice Mario. However, I don't know if NWP or blank or MN1 or whoever-was-testing-the-Ice-Flower imported it successfully in SMG2. I'd say to use the small ice comets from Shiverburn. They create the same ice tiles on lava that Ice Mario creates. Also, I think fire is going to be used more often than lava in this galaxy.

Last view: 886 days ago 		Yeah the snowballs have potential for puzzles--rolling them in snow makes them bigger (I'm not sure if there's a size limit) and rolling them in lava creates platforms but shrinks them until they disappear.

There is a size limit (like 5x Mario's size), but I think there could be a field to allow for a more flexible limit with size.

EDIT: Should we use flares here? On the Concept Art thread, I posted a picture I found of flares.

The lava-snow area from Freezy Flake's final area in Star 1 cam aerve as some inspiration here. Mario could have to cross a large ice rink and avoid some lava pool-creating meteors. There could also be light torches here. Then, he moves on to a snowy field filled with lava. Mario can use the Fire Flower to defeat purple Urchins in shallow water, and res Urchins near the lava. There could also be bonfires here.

Edit: According to MarioNumber1, the Ice Flower only creates ice tiles on the lava in the final section of Freezeflame's third mission. If we are going to use the power-up at all, it will have to be with water.

TBH I don't think the aesthetics of the lava planet in freezy were done all that great. I do think the concept could be cool but it seemed out of place. I guess since this is both, it could work, so I'm all for it
But this is 2 star, and IMO star 2 should be a comet and you have to collect purple coins, possibly while being timed or being chased by cosmic clones.
